Thanks for this video. Found this quite an easy job. Just used a T30 Torx Screwdriver, 2 screws on top and 1 underneath accessible from the access panel on the front of the wheelarch liner by locking the steering wheel. I think it took me about 15 to 20 minutes to change the bulbs in each headlamp. Hardest part was lying on my back to unscrew the bottom one, its tight but manageable.

@JonJon-fu8qz. First of all, thank you very much for the comment!!! I’m aware of that small access cover, but unfortunately, when the wheel arch on my car broke, I rebuilt it using fiber glass, and didn’t include that access hole. Because of this, I couldn’t film that particular version. However, I’ve received many comments explaining this method, and I’m glad people can read about this alternative way to change the light bulb. In the future, I plan to create a new video where I’ll also showcase this approach. If you found this video helpful, I’d love for you to subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already. Your support truly motivates and inspires me to keep creating content!

@fulesmackofule. First of all, thank you very much for your comment!!! I made some videos with various parts that I replaced on this car, such as changing the window lifting system, removing the door panel, etc. Generally minor, but they can be helpful because I noticed that they are common to this model. The most important thing is that they are easy to repair, without the need to go to the service and spend a small fortune. If you found value in this video, I encourage you to subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. Your subscription serves as a motivating factor for me to persist in delivering fresh, informative videos.

There is an access panel under the wing, just turn the wheel to full lock to get in there.

@Ender Scope. First of all, thank you very much for your comment. A subscriber told me this before and I know about the existence of that cover. But unfortunately, my hand didn't fit all the way to the screw, and I found this version quite difficult to access. I'm not saying it wouldn't work, but it seems quite difficult to me. What I managed to do through that hole was to change the bulbs of the fog projectors. Thanks again for the tip, and if you find my channel helpful don't forget to subscribe! Your support as well as that of other people who visit my channel is extremely important to me!

You don't have to take the plastic headlamp out and mess around with screws, just look at the back you'll see the rubber cover just take it out and bulb is right there a two minute job.

@Adrian Pickard. First of all, thank you very much for your comment!!! Other subscribers told me the same thing, but unfortunately for me, personally, I simply can't fit my hand between the headlight and the rest of the car's components. As an example, changing a rear light bulb is absolutely impossible without removing it because there is no possibility to access it from the trunk. My opinion, although it may be wrong, is that in the future a simple bulb change will have to be done at an authorized service. I think the automotive industry is moving slightly towards this trend.

Why did Cars switch to this way of changing light bulb. It used to be that you had a little cap you unlocked and that's all you needed to do to change bulb.

@Astro War. First of all, thank you very much for your comment!!! Yes, you are right and I agree with you. Unfortunately for this model, I personally did not work to change the bulb in the classic way. I simply can't fit my hand between the headlight and the rest of the car's components. My personal opinion, although I may be wrong, but I want to support my case is that the car industry somehow wants all maintenance operations, or even changing a light bulb, to be possible only at an authorized service.For example, for the rear light there was not even that cap like in classic cars. Or any possibility to access them from the trunk of the car. You simply have to remove and unscrew the screws of a cover to be able to access the bulbs.

@@PAFixandCrafts Yes I have this vehicle and I had to remove the whole thing to get at it. Conversely on my 1987 Nissan it's a 2 minute job with no tools required. And yes I agree with you, it's obviously a deliberate design. Even with tools they made it as awkward as possible with that bolt down below the lamp. In the end I didn't bother putting back the bolt below and now it's a quicker job. I went and changed the fog light bulbs at the same time as it's awkward to get to those without the headlight removed.

My headlight gets very hot after 1 hour of driving with the lights on, I have checked and the heat is only coming from the center part of the headlight. It is normal?
@PAFixandCrafts

@ DAXCR . First of all thank ou ver much for your comment! The 2010 model uses H4 type bulbs which at the base have a tungsten wire as a component which in the presence of a gas and the passage of electric current through it, it heats up generating light radiation. Personally, I would have no problems with the heat generated. But if you want to go further to solve this situation, we can measure the temperature of the headlight after a certain time interval with an infrared gun and compare the results. Although I think they will be similar.
@unai280
@unai280 2 жыл бұрын
@@PAFixandCrafts Thanks for your answer, I understand that it is normal. My car's headlights have also turned a little yellow and ugly like the one in the video and I wonder if it could be due to the heat or what method do you recommend to eliminate that because I used a special product but after a while it's similar again. Coincidentally, in the area where there is more heat is where it has turned yellow and ugly the most, the part of the flashing light bulb is like the first day, clear!

Also I forgot to tell you that if you turn the wheel completely you can see a cover next to the wheel, that way you can access that difficult screw under the headlight that you mentioned!
@PAFixandCrafts

@DAXCR . Certainly, both the light radiation and the heat released by the headlight are factors that influence their fogging, but the worst factor is the sun. A long exposure of them to the sun brings this effect. As a solution, I polished the headlights with a repair kit bought from Lidl. But the effect lasted only 3 months. There would be another option where you could sand the headlights with 1000, then 2000, then 3000, then 5000 grit sandpaper and then cover them with two layers of Klarlack. But over time the varnish will peel off and you will have the same effect. In my case, it lasted 2 years. And thank you for your support!!!

@DAXCR. I knew about that hole, but I thought it only offered room to change the fog lights. I never thought I could unscrew that screw through that hole. I will try next time when I have to change the bulb. But it's a very good idea that I didn't think of. Thanks!

Salut.

@MissAvenada.First of all, thank you very much for your comment and secondly, sorry for my late reply. It does not press anything on the bulb and does not have any safety system. you only have to pull with more force and thus the light bulb comes out with the connector. Again you will have to pull to remove it from the connector and replace it with the new one. Be careful that pin is oriented at the top. I hope you found my answer helpful and if you have other questions, don't hesitate to write to me.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS TO CHANGE THE LIGHTBULB!!! All you have to do is remove the cap on the back of the lightbulb and change it that way. If you wanna change the little light, than yes you have to remove the entire thing but otherwize you dont have to.... 45 min of struggeling to figure that one out

@Gamer 4028. First of all, thank you very much for your comment! I tried this option, but unfortunately my hand does not fit behind the headlight in any way to be able to change the bulb. It used to go to the older Ford KA model that I owned for a while, but with this model I could not change the bulb until after I took the headlight down.

I have tried just pulling the bulb out but there are clamps / clips I don’t want to mess anything up so was jst checking do they just unclip ? Couldn’t see that part as it was off camera

First of all, thank you very much for the comment!!! Don’t worry too much; the light bulb fits securely in place. To remove it, hold the bulb with one hand and gently wiggle the plug and bulb left and right while pulling the plug out. You’ll notice the bulb will start to separate from the plug. Once it’s out, simply insert the new bulb with the base facing up, then reattach the headlight. That’s it! Po co takie kombinacje? Bez wyjmowania reflektora świetny dostęp do żarówki.

@user-dt1dp3hn6j. First of all, thank you very much for the comment! This is not a scam. It is the method that I find convenient to change the bulb without going to the mechanic. I know about that cover, but on the left side I don't have access to it because the car was hit and the fender was rebuilt from fiberglass. So I couldn't film this version. In the future I will make another video in which I will also present this method. But no one is fooling anyone. I make these clips to help other people and to be able to do this operation at home!
