Thank you for posting this. The solution is to remove the two lenses carefully with a screwdriver,then remove the 2 Phillips screws inside each lighting bay. then, with a flat screwdriver,push out to each side the white switches, revealing the connections.Them, with rubbing alcohol clean the connections. Reinstall as above,they should work OK.If not the switches are bad just replace those.

Thanks for posting this informative video. One of my bulbs recently went out, and this gave great instructions on how to replace it. I even used a Case knife that I've had for many years that appears similar to yours to pry off the cover. The whole process was really easy thanks to this video.

2012 Crosstour, this worked, thank you Also the direction of the bulb seems to matter but it's not clear which side is positive or negative so just try and flip it around if it doesn't work the first time The right side light is extremely dim after replacement so I'm thinking either the connector/wire to that light is faulty or it needs a new fuse

My 2015 Acura ILX does not have the same cover. If I remove the lens over the map light, the light is a square array of led's about 1in x 1in. Cant figure out how to get at these...

Not a speaker but a temperature sensor for the automatic climate control. The little thing next to it is a blue light that shines down at night to give a bit of ambient lighting and help you see a bit at night. Hope this helps. Thanks and take care.

Just wanted to add that if you find that your map light bulb(s) are still good, it may be the switches that turn the map lights on and off. Apparently this is a common problem on Honda's and Acura's. So if you put the bulb into the other side and it lights up, you know the bulb is still good. I wrote a post on how to fix the switch by cleaning it on OdyClub.com, you can see it here: www.odyclub.com/forums/52-2005-2010-odyssey/200201-map-light-interior-light-switch-not-working-right.html. Mine is post #12 by BeachbumNJ. Hope this helps someone.

When my dome light is set to on my dome light illuminates. However when I set it on the door open (middle) it does not come on when back door is opened. Is this a light issue or something else altogether?

If you depress and hold the light cover and take a thin screwdriver to the long side opposite the depressed side, it is easier to remove the cover than attempting to pop the short sides off as in the video. ( I actually used a paper clip that I found in the cup holder.)

Hi, 2012 Accord owner here. Neither map light works- confirmed fuses are not blown. Tried replacement bulbs (purchased from NAPA) - still not working. Cleaned the contacts- nope. I want the brighter LEDs - but I’m wondering if the switches are the problem. Also, aren’t the map lights supposed to come on when I open the doors and then fade out? They’ve been out for so long I’ve forgotten. Any recommendations? I don’t want to take it to the dealership for this. Thanks
