I got it. Thank you very much! The fluid goes through the system through the big hose on the right. You are draining the reservoir and then disconnecting the return hose on the left and plugging the reservoir return nipple so the fluid doesn't drain out while filling the reservoir back up with clean new fluid. You then run the return hose on the left into a container until it runs red or clear of old fluid. Thank you again for your video. I pressed the LIKE BUTTON so that you can get more exposure/views.

What is the diameter of the "littlehose with the hose clamp" you made and that you show at 1:05 ? I plan to do the same. Thanks
@tgmac82886 жыл бұрын
The inner diameter was 7/16" (1.1 cm). Same size as the return hose. If the return hose has excess, you can cut 1/2" or more for the clamp.

I measured on my RAV4 2000-2005 (RAV4.2) VVTI and the return hose is 2.0cm. The inner diameter seems to be 16mm. Maybe the diameter is different for the return hose between RAV4.1 and RAV4.2... BTW, your method is really the best I seen :)

The other way to find the size for different year models. Call your local auto parts or car dealer. They should be able to tell the right diameter physically of the hose of your vehicle.

I made a custom 11mm inner diameter hose with plug to connect on the return side of the power steering fluid reservoir. On the return line, I shoved a 8mm outer diameter tube to extract fluid. I applied your method on my 2004 RAV4 PETROL and it worked perfectly. It was very easy. The most difficult part was to find the tubes/hoses to plug on the return line and on the return side of the power steering fluid reservoir Thank you

You think I can do this method by disconnecting the bottom (underside )part of the return line ?im doing this to a v6 03 taco and that hose cracked so I’m flushing the system from there since its getting removed and replaced anyway

If you will buy from auto parts shop, the shop should be able to tell you by your car's year and model. If not, you can call a local Toyota parts department for the information.

That was a large "flavor Injector" from dollar shop only costed a few bulks. Very versatile to use. Amazon or eBay have it but costs more. Just attached with plastic tube for good uses. www.amazon.ca/Charcoal-Companion-CC5111-Marinade-Injector/dp/B004RDPM3Q/ref=sr_1_56?keywords=flavor+injector&qid=1587196769&sr=8-56

Did you distract the power steering fluid out and bring it down to the level "Min"?

You Forget To Bleed It. Air Must Be Trapped Inside.
@rhysbertrand89036 жыл бұрын
Shahid Doctor dont need to bleed this method because there’s always fluid in the lines, you’re not emptying them

You forget to drive it around and check the fluid again for correct level and leak...
@tgmac82886 жыл бұрын
Hi! John, Once the engine is on, the power steering works right the way. If there is any air or bubbles in the system, the air should be pushed out immediately without driving. If it happens (but unlikely), have the power steering filled to the right level again. With the way shown in the video, it should have no chance to build up air/bubbles in the system. Don’t get confused with power steering which has problem of losing fluid. As the heading clearing stated “How to change Power Steering Fluid” of which means the power system functioning good at the time. It is a good practice to check again after driving. I have no objection to that.
