The one thing I needed to see and you cut away! I need to see how your removed the passenger side plug closest to the firewall!

That was was actually easier for me than the 2 on the rear of the driver's side. Reach down under the radiator hose in between it and the fluid reservoirs with a 3/8 swivel head ratchet and a short extension. When you're putting it back in hand tight I just reached straight down from the top then repeated running the ratchet in from the front again.

The most important part of the video; why most of us came here…HOW TO GET THEM OUT…is not shown.

The whole reason I watched this was for tips and ways to get the hard to reach spark plugs and you just skipped right over the actual removal

lol me too

did you ever figure it out?

@@headsnap2710 unfortunately there really isn’t a secret method that makes it easy. The best you can do is have u-joints and extensions on hand in case you need them. After that, it just comes down to how much are you willing to remove. I found that the drivers side are definitely easier with no need of removing anything. The passenger side though..... my god. Some people have a bit of luck going through the wheel well if you think that would help. I personally don’t like jacking up my truck just to get at the spark plugs. However, I did remove some coolant hoses that made some room and that in itself is a little excessive. Like I said, u-joint, extensions, patience. Best you got.

I hoped I'd see something that might help me with a 91 Ranger. The passenger spark plug next to the firewall is stuck. I went through the wheel well but still managed to break the porcelain. All videos just give the easy examples. This plug has no straight shots not even for a swivel ratchet. I'm about ready to remove the AC to get to it. I think engineers do this on purpose.

All you gotta do is just install it in the truck lol

Original plugs on this truck were platinum (I know because that's what my 1994 4.0 OHV Ranger specifies). You should typically replace plugs with the same type as the vehicle was issued with. Not a big deal here, really, the copper ones will just need changed a lot sooner than platinum plugs. Good video, but it would be helpful to see how you removed the passenger side plug nearest the firewall. It's often difficult to reach and remove. Truck sounds really good running with the new plugs! Keep her on the road!

Han Skinslo, Absolutely true pal, this truck is my buddy's and he bought the plugs and wires available to him at the time. Next tune up on the truck or another vehicle I will cover in depth how to remove stubborn plug wires. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video 👍

I thought you were going to show how you got the plugs out because my Ranger it looks like a nightmare.

I doubt he came back to show how to replace the hard-to-reach plugs

@@randythomas3478 Yup, that was the only reason I watched the video, otherwise it was a waste of time. Never saw the other 3 videos -- if they exist.

@@randythomas3478 did you find any video or develop any tips with sharing? Planning to do this soon.

Looks like you got to take off that tip piece to get to the plugs on the driver side. Did you have to do that?
@3llement3 жыл бұрын
@@headsnap2710 I've been waiting for warmer weather before I tackle this project. Seems I've seen a video where the guy got at the plugs without removing anything, but it was tough to do without cross threading the plugs. Another guy went at it from under the truck -- I won't be trying that.

Thanks for the great video. Did you do all the passenger side plugs from the top or did you go through the wheel well?

Boo... thank for nothing, we all get the principle but need to know how you got the passenger side out and how you got the plug wires through I ugh the intake on the driver side

Hi, thanks for the good Info. Can I even use „Iridium“ Sparks on the same vehicle and same Engine ? Had some bad idling after change. What could be the reason? Or do I have to use platinum Sparks?
@paulhoskins78523 жыл бұрын
You can use Iridium plugs but they're not necessary.
