I purchased a Chevy express 2500 a little over than 4 years ago. It had 150k miles. In 4 years I put 100k. Now it has 255k miles Just did the Wires and plugs and 3 coils. Started shaking bad. And about a month Agar I put a new pump. Believe it or not the original pump lasted 250k Btw. I paid around 650 to get the wires and plugs and 3 coils 1 mop sensor I thought I got a good price. I am happy with it. I am about to get me another van. I am on the road a lot. 25k miles per years

Yeah may want to use a little Dielectric grease at all those connections on the coils in the plug so next time you got to take it apart you don't have to destroy the wires be a good idea plus it'll make the ignition better just saying

I had some success with getting the spark plug boots off by twisting the boot around in one direction until it released from the spark plug. Then, it came right off no problem. My plugs were (cooked) on and took some muscle to break free. The extension is a must to be able to put the required muscle on it.

Easy job but spark plugs are in very tight position.. Its best taking the driver seat out and the passenger wheel off of possible.. best to change plugs .wires and ALL ignition coils.. express vans are VERY easy to work on and spare parts areveasy to find and they run forever. Change oil frequently..use AC DELCO OR FACTORY SPARK PLUGS ONLY..

@@TerenceDIY I have low oil pressure problem. But, I did find the oil sensor. I changed it, still have low pressure. I discovered I may need to change the oil cooler lines, as you did in one of your videos. I see some oil residue on them lines. Could that be causing the low oil pressure?
@TerenceDIY
@TerenceDIY 2 жыл бұрын
Issac, the lines will not create low oil pressure. what size engine do you have? Does the van run as if it has low oil pressure? There has been cases where the guage became inaccurate. I'm hoping the o-ring around the pick-up tube has not worn out. That's another culprit of low oil pressure. I have a video on my channel showing that as well in my suburban when I changed the oil pan gasket.
@issacjackson552
@issacjackson552 2 жыл бұрын
@@TerenceDIY , I have a 4.8 engine. And, the gauge is working fine, as I can tell. But, when I drive above 50, the engine would sometimes tick and other times it wouldn't. Before that low oil pressure message came on, I noticed my oil pressure dropping a little at a time, over the past month. I was checking the oil level on the dipstick, & it kept being on full. So, thought it was good, until the messages on the dash told me about the low oil pressure and cut the car off.
@TerenceDIY
@TerenceDIY 2 жыл бұрын
@@issacjackson552 , I wouldn't be surprised if it's the oil pick up tube o-ring. That is a tell tale sign of low oil pressure in those engines. That 4.8 is bulletproof! One of the greatest engines Chevy ever produced if maintained properly.

The reason being if you scratch the platinum chip's surface with a metal gauge the plug is subject to premature failure. Guess how I found this out ? And yes this van is a bi......h to work on. Terence, great video, and got me out of a pinch when trying to figure out that driver's side forward plug! I found that I needed to jack the van up, but didn't need to pull the wheel off. Also, for leverage, a half inch breaker bar on an extension, with a helper keeping positive pressure to engage the plug was helpful.

Now, I wanted to know could I straighten them out the best I can, or would I have to find some replacements? Or, do I need those coverings at all?

@@conradsuddarth632 if you can , take some pliers/channel locks and try to twist the spark plug boot before pulling it off the plug. That's an old method for removing wires that become fused onto the plug easily. That was a good choice of changing the coils. Keep up the good work bro.
