Lordy, I was frightened by this posting. I watched zip ties get used instead of fastners, electrical pliers used instead of a 10mm wrench, battery hold down frame get bent backward (I give credit for keeping it) since it was pretty hard to remove that last screw unless there was a 10mm socket around, I do need to give credit that you kept the battery cover.

Who is this HACK?? Primitive Pete and shade tree mechanic looks good next to this hack . Bending and breaking parts and its not even the right battery. Then the post protectors are suddenly mysteriously swapped. This has go to be a joke!!!

Okay. To be fair and foul I will post here. The good: Battery removed and replaced. Lexus for some reason shipped underpowered batteries with the rx400h. So getting another type is good. The bad: Pliers on battery terminals, NO. Use a socket set. (You will ruin the nuts) Place battery cover on before putting battery in. Pro tip. If you have a metal brush, it's good to get corrosion away from terminals. Also some conductive grease (probably very rare). eBay has those plugs for the fisade. You press on the circle in the middle to reset them. He replaced the battery. It worked.

I have a 2008 RX400H and after viewing this video and found many things disturbing very sloppy work and not a good example.BTW I think this batteries are rated at around 550 Amps because the hybrids have no starters.This is a good example of what “Not to do to your car”

As pointed out by others this is a real botched job. Everything is wrong. And even if you do want to put it right afterwards, he's already actually bent the bodywork! Then there's the cable ties, the incorrect connection sequence, and all the other hellish stuff being done.

Hey goof, the battery bracket comes off. Change the title to "How NOT to change a car battery..." You just need a 10mm socket for it and the battery terminals. Always use the right tool for the job. Duh!

Talk about primitive Pete mechanic. Does this guy even own a Rachet and metric sockets, metric wrenches or is he just that lazy he has to bend the hold down bracket. Check which side your terminals are on before installing. 51R battery for these.
