This is the same engine as in my Audi A3 - I had hoped to see you 'change the spark plugs' but you decided to just talk about it instead- Thanks, will see if I can see how it is done on another video!

same engine on a3 2006 BSE engine. I can do the spark plug change with ease and I am not a motor mechanic, all you need is balanced mind and calm nature. Easy job.

You don't have to take the inlet manifold off to do the plugs. They are still a pain to do , but with an extension bar with a wobble socket of the right size for the plugs on the end, you can get to them without removing the actual inlet manifold.

I asked a mechanic and he showed me how to remove the plug with an articulated socket that allows you to get in without dismantling anything

If you can get the HT leads off then you don't need to remove the manifold. If the leads come off then a combination of various types of socket extensions and wobbly bits should gain access to the plugs. However sometimes if the leads are stuck on tight it's virtually impossible to find a way to get them off without removing the manifold.

I have this same shitty engine in my Mk4 Golf 1.6. Took me 3 hours to do a service. Now the car is for sale. If you want to buy it let me know.
