Thanks Bro! You definitely made this look easy, but I saw the greased bloody knuckles at the end, even with your latex gloves that you had on when you started the task. I just think it happens every time I work on something with my vehicles. I'm glad that it's not just me! But thank you for the step by step, and socket size and extension pieces blurb. Thats very helpful!

This video you you made was very helpful. I had to do the same thing to my 2007 Dodge Charger SXT 3.5 liter. Everything went smoothly for the most part for me. I did have to remove my power steering pump. I don't have headers on my car like you do . My heat shield made things a bit tight. Thank You so much for your advice.😁😁😁😁😁

Someone told me to get to that house that goes from the oiler to the thermostat housing you have to me the AC out the way and it took 4 hrs to reach in there.. The best way it looks is to remove the thermostat housing and pull it up to disconnect that hose . This video gave me a good idea to try .

i replaced just the theromostat itself and its still acting like its stuck open, do u think i should replace the whole asembly? no overheating, heater works fine as normal, just running too dagone cold and takes it sweet time to warm up when idling. would not reach the 1/4 mark in cold out tempuratures.

Don’t think the assembly matters. Have all seals in place right. Weird.
@JCA11

@@HowToWithLech very weird indeed, I'm not a mechanic but found out my thermostat is a 180, 195 is when the needle reaches the middle on the gauge,(i know this cuz i use the digital read out on my torque app) not sure wat thermostat temp was on the OEM but I'm guessing it's supposed to be 190, eitherway it still won't warm up to 180 in 55 degrees weather, it stays put at 156 on highway, if i crank the heater on it'll drop to 145 or 140
@jamiehamilton6935
@jamiehamilton6935 Жыл бұрын
@@JCA11 I'm pretty sure you're right that the OEM's run about 190-ish. I have a Dodge Ram and replaced with a lower thermostat thinking cooler motor longer life - Heater didn't work worth a flip and took forever to warm up.

I just replaced my thermostat and with a new gasket, but I used the old housing because it looked fine. I am getting some leakage around the housing after I tightened the bolts. Parts were from NAPA. Any idea if this leak will persist?
@HowToWithLech

Are the clamps good around the hoses to it. All bolts tightened down. Gasket was in place when reinstalled it. Those are my guesses.
