Front diff oil on my 4310 was glittery like crazy? Matching has under 1200 hrs, fluid has been changed in the past. Is any kind of fluid sparkle "normal". Using JD Hy guard as per dealer recommendation

Hi cb7pwn, thanks for reaching out. Oil that has a glittery appearance can be an indication that metal shavings have mixed in with your oil. A slight shimmer in the oil is normal, but larger chunks or shavings could signal a larger issue. A shimmery texture will be more noticeable on the initial fluid change as the gears will wear-in more when they are new. @@patrickbouldinkm5l143 the 1,3,4 &5 series recommend low vis Hy-gard, officially JD recommends GL-5 for the 2038 front Axel. I had already put Hy-gard in based on a dealer recommendation and have had no issues. I think it's splitting hairs and will stick with Hy-gard for winter performance
