This is fab, thanks! I also wouldn’t completely dismiss getting a knockoff… I know it sounds like a recipe for disaster, but I got a cheap large-ish day bag in a Hong Kong street market, thinking it would last just for that trip. It has material on the back to help air circulate, big comfy straps and a waist strap, and lots of pockets. Ten years on and it’s still going strong!! No tears, no rotting. I use it for long weekends and as a carry on plus suitcase. If you’re seriously broke, choose carefully and you could find a gem 😁

Thanks for this info. I'm probably not your average viewer. Middle aged lady. I have traveled by bus and car around the USA. I'm planning a month long solo trip abroad. Im staying at some hostels.(even though my adult son says I'm too old for hostels) . Im also planning some short hiking trips. If all goes well Im going to do the west highland way. Any tips you have or certain vids of yours to watch would be great. Thanks!

I thought about a backpack but just went with rolling suitcases for long term travel, since my stuff is too heavy to carry inside those and id probably break my pack if it were attempted. got about 180 lbs worth of luggage.
@AlexanderTravelbum4 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a good idea then. Mobility is great with backpacks but rolling luggage is easy and takes the stress off your body. Maybe one day after all these years of traveling I’ll switch over ✊🏻

I use wandrd prvk 31L which is expandable because it's a roll top. It's also clamshell. Fits alot and can carryon with Ryanair ✌️✌️

I’m getting ready to give the Wandrd a try very soon. Looks amazing. Thanks for the heads up ✊🏻

The one you mentioned, seems perfect the way it holds camera gear and the roll top adds extra room

I got a great deal on my Osprey Porter 46 for $100 off. Unfortunately only the red colour was on sale. Great bag though, the straps zip away so it's easy to store and I think the pocket placements are perfect. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a good day bag? I need a better one.
@AlexanderTravelbum4 жыл бұрын
A lot of people seem to love the Porter. I’ve only tried it in store. For day bags I usually recommend a regular 20 liter backpack that doesn’t stand out. I’d say not to get one made for travel that looks like a backpacker’s bag, but a minimal, normal looking bag that will help you fit in just a little more with the locals

What do you think about the popular Osprey Farpoint 40? Have you ever used it? How does it compare with these other bags? Please make a video review. Thanks!!

@@AlexanderTravelbum 46,, I'm more worried about is durability. I don't want it to Fall apart while I don't have access to buy one

Weight of your bag would be a big one! Eg, if you’re travelling Australia, New Zealand, SE Asia and the airlines have a 7kg carry on weight limit... don’t let your pack be half of that🙄
