Idea idea idea! I've been bingeing a lot of curly hair videos lately on KZbin. There are so many different views, options, statements, techniques ect displayed by the many influential people. It would be AMAZING if there was a panel or even a jubilee or watchcut style video where they'd discuss their tips and routines because many contradict eachother and I am confusion about how to go about my routine
@fenn__fenn4 жыл бұрын
They contradict each other because everyone’s hair is different be it damage level, thickness, amount of hair, curl type, environment, etc etc. There are DOZENS of factors that affect someone’s hair differently. Ultimately you need to find what works for YOU, not what works for someone who looks like you :)

I have fine, wavy- curly hair, but I only started the C.G this month. My hair is in the weird stage where I have actual spiral curls, but it looks like someone has pulled the curl, so it's stretched. I need the sulfates due to a scalp condition (SD, aka seborrheic dermatitis). A good harsh cleanse is what works for my scalp. I double condition or double mask to combat the dryness in my lengths and I do an oil rinse in between both conditioners (lengths only). It works for me. I am currently using up my stash of products, so I am mixing one conditioner or one mask with the other, and it still works! Things out there aren't that much different, which is why I go for the more affordable options, things like Pantene, Herbal Essences, L'Oréal, Dove. These are the most affordable products we have here in Belgium.

I have the same kind of hair that the individual strands are super thin but I have so much hair so it appears thick. It's so difficult to describe. It's literally fine thick hair. While I love my hair I find having fine strands make my hair sooo fragile and easily damaged. I have worked so hard and do all of those so called "hair hacks" maintain my hair health, however no matter what I do I cannot go long without breakage appearing. I've tried the curly girl method (I have 2a/2b waves) for a year and actually had so much more breakage. Once I returned to using products that contain silicones it has become a little more durable, however it is still so difficult to keep my fine hair from breaking. I rarely use heat, I use a silk pillowcase, dry my hair with a t-shirt and I'm very mindful about the products I use on my hair (also I'm crazy about the Shea moisture deep conditioner you use. I swear by it and it's so perfect for my hair type). Anyway do you also struggle with breakage and fine hair? And if so how do you combat it? I've tried everything and am at a loss at this point

@PurpleCows5 жыл бұрын
Some people just naturally have different textures. It's completely normal!! But since you're still transitioning, it could be that the top layer has more damage since it is so much more exposed to the elements. Also super common. You can try finger coiling the top layer to get a bit more definition or flexi-rods if you really want it to match. But tbh if you're transitioning, you should be doing the lowest manipulation possible.

Speaking of oils...the coconut oil molecule is way too large to penetrate the hair cuticle. I’m not sure about the other oils you mentioned, but coconut oil isn’t a great option

What do you use for your day to day look? I feel like it’s hard to know which to pick because my hair is very similar to yours but I see so many of your videos sponsored.

I have hair in between yours and Penny's, so I thought wave maker would work great, but I literally see no difference in my hair using it. :(

Do you have a lot of hair loss on wash days? Since I started my journey to bring back my curls I shed horribly. Is that normal or are my products not working for my hair correctly?

Have you tried Briogeo products? They're supposed to be really good for curly hair. Girl, I just saw on your bio that you love sex and the city. That is my favorite show too!! I am 37, it was new when I was in my early 20s and I totally connected with it. This show is still pretty relevant.

I feel like oil can’t actually penetrate you’re cuticle since it has no ph and ph is what lifts the cuticles
@indiabatson265 жыл бұрын
Lee Molloy from the research I’ve done it seems to simply depend on the oil type. Some cannot penetrate your hair cuticle at all and just sit on top

Do you have any tips for us curly girls with dandruff? My dermatologist says that I should wash my hair daily because of how oily my scalp is but my curls scream and cry at that thought of that. I wash every other to every couple days as a compromise but my scalp hates me by day 3.
