This is very good. I usually follow the instructions you demonstrate. At the end of this video, you mentioned removing the washplate to clean gunk trapped underneath. I haven’t seen that video yet, but I’m very anxious to see how you do it. I have the exact same model.

I don't mind doing this maintenance however, I have found it extremely annoying that Maytag has programmed the machine to NOT do another wash cycle until this cleaning function has been done. The annoying part is that I don't get this notice until AFTER I have already loaded the washer with clothes and detergent, that it says must be removed before it will do the cleaning cycle. IMO, it should let you do 1 or 2 more loads before it's mandatory to avoid this annoyance of unloading what I just loaded.

O bought a Maytag glass top loader washer. I use afresh every month. Hint: fabric softener really leaves waxy residue. My Maytag does not have an agitator. I really really like the feature. If you want to really see what fabric softener does,? Clean the fab sof holder and the top of agitator if that is where your fabric softener go. It's disgusting. I found that with my old washer. Peace🌈🌎💞

CLR really works good as well. 1/2 cup of CLR in the dishwasher or clothes washer. Dishes come out much cleaner after I do a cycle of CLR.

No filter on this model that I am aware of. No mention of a filter in the maintenance and care section of the owner’s manual. 😎

She didn't give me the okay, but I tried when she wasn't looking... LOL Problem was that I couldn't break the nut free to remove the agitator. They might have used a threadlocker. I'll try again at some point. 😎

@@HacksbyDadOh goodness. I’m also having trouble removing the bolt that holds the agitator/wash plate in. I have a clothing that got stuck underneath. The problem is, when I turn the socket wrench, the whole thing moves so the bolt isn’t actually being loosened!

Maytag’s “Clean Washer” setting automatically uses hot water. If you don’t have a Maytag… you can use your washer’s heavy-duty setting with hot water. 😎

The only surefire way I know is to remove the inner drum. Our washer is still pretty new, so my wife won't let me do that... yet. LOL. I did this on our old LG front-load washer and it was a lot of work. Trust me…. you don’t want learn the hard way like we did. After years of neglect, the space between the inner and outer drum of our old machine was full of smelly gunk.
