I bought some Nintendo approved rubbing alcohol off eBay for $27. but it was just regular Walmart brand rubbing alcohol with a sticker over the label.

Well my second hand cartridge is not reading so the risk is basically none. It is too old to ask for a refund and worst case it stays unreadable. Thanks for the advice! Yay! My cartridge works again :).
