Get rid of the pressure washer mate.You want to use a regular garden hose with acid as you want lots of water to neutralise the acid.How do you go getting acid on your galvanised trailer?Acid will eat through the galvanising in my experience. Good video and greetings from Sydney Australia

Thanks. My son was pressure washing so it was out. We rinsed really good with hose as well. We wet the trailer down really good so nothing was damaged. Thanks for watching! Have a good one!!!

I did this last year. Works very well. my trailer is powder coated and it absolutely discolored that powder coat though. Only downfall of this.

Hey thanks man, looks good. What kind of brush do you use? A stiff bristled brush or is it on the softer side?

I use a pretty stiff one to start then switch to a softer one tp spread the acid around.

I’ve used this on semis and it is excellent. However! It will etch paint. So on painted trailer paint will be etched also.

Yep you are correct, don't want it on painted trailers for sure.

Will that stuff eat the paint off a lower unit? Looking at a boat right now and it's got bad stains like this on it.

Honestly I wouldn’t do that

Could I use this on the fence rails or too risky to use it near the vinyl seats?
@JackedUpFishing Жыл бұрын
You could wipe it with a rag. Test a spot somewhere hidden to see

Does the chemicals hurt the bunks that the pontoons sit on on your trailer?
@JackedUpFishing2 жыл бұрын
No, because the bunks are not carpet on pontoons, at least they shouldn't be. The wooded carpeted bunks stay wet and cause corrosion to the pontoons. These are wooded bunks covered with a thick vinyl or plastic. Thanks for watching!
@Davidg1t12 жыл бұрын
@@JackedUpFishing what kind of plastic or vinyl do you use? Thanks for the video bro! I do lift repairs, and I need an alternative to carpeted bunks.
@JackedUpFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@Davidg1t1 google vinyl Trailer bunk covers and they come up. Pretty common for pontoon boats because carpet holds water and pontoons would rot in the area of bunks where wooded carpeted bunks were in years past.

wanna really make it look good...?? I did this, and then went over my toons with an orbital buffer and foam pad using white diamond aluminum polish.. They'll turn black as you go and hard to wipe off, but I make even that easier by wiping that down with a big towel, then a rag and some acetone or laquer thinner. the toons will look somewhat a polished (which I don't like that look) so I then again, dilute the Aluma bright about 10:1 and give a quick spray with that again and a quick rinse.. They look shiny but more of a factory clean silver instead of either white from full strength acid wash, or mirror like from the polish. i did that5 years ago and clear coated with ToonBrite clear.. which lasted multiple seasons!!! they looked great for years!!
@JackedUpFishing Жыл бұрын
Awesome I will keep that in mind! Thanks for the suggestion

i have an older pontoon that some painted the pontoon with sort of anti fouling paint. they had it in brackish water i guess for algae, they did gator sighting tours,but we use it in salt water and it is pulled after every use. if anyone brushes up any where near the pontoon you get smeared with black. i was afraid to start using strippers as i do not know the brand used on the boat. the man we bought it from has recently passed and no way to find out what he used on the boat.

@JackedUpFishing7 ай бұрын
Think it has more weight in rear. No leaks or water in toons. It was sold years ago though
@JUSTBEINGHONEST476 ай бұрын
Pontoon sitting in the water still is rear heavy due to motor…. Also lots of people sit in the shade of a Bimini top when boat is sitting still. 99% of the time the water line has nothing to do with water in toons.
@iveneverdonethisbefore8390 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. These companies need to figure out a something for the pontoons, no matter what you do, they never look as good as when the boat was new. Any aluminum cleaner dulls the finish, or makes it streaky, chalky, etc. Pontoons always end up looking like sh-t
