From what i understand from my dive into carpet cleaning chemicals d limonene witch is the chemical in "citris" base cleaners is a great chemical for cleaning carpets its only downfall tho is it collect dirt because of the oils from d limonene so most people will use it as a spot cleaner when doing a extraction on carpets since the water will pull out the oils ... there are 2 types of upholstery shampoo ones that dont foam designed for a extractor and ones that do foam designed for not being extracted the foam helps the solution and the dirt stay at the service so it can be extracted with a microfiber towel Most shampoos designed to be used with a hot water extractor are a two part system a high ph as a pre spray before you scrub then followed up by a low ph shampoo in the extractor That head linner looked great and i fell like you method of not spraying and using a towel is the proper way to do it 👍

Thanks for the insights and feedback! You’re spot on about d-limonene. It’s great for cleaning, but those oils can attract dirt, so using it specifically as a spot cleaner and ideally rinsing thoroughly with an extractor is smart to reduce quick re-soiling in the treated area. I appreciate your breakdown of the upholstery shampoos; the difference between foaming and non-foaming is key. Personally, I’m not a fan of foaming cleaners because they can get messy, so I love how Rocket Revive sprays on easily without that hassle. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, keep them coming!

Will this remove pet odor from headliner? My headliner is clean. But previous owner had pet in the truck and i can smell it in the headliner, carpet, leather seat. All over, im trying to find a solution that i can do myself to get rid of the odor as much as possible.

Great question, It can work if done properly and thoroughly. In some cases, you may need to repeat the process to completely eliminate pet odors. Start with Rocket Revive It and high quality microfiber towels that absorb moisture and trap bacteria, followed by an enzyme cleaner if the first cleaner did not work; like Bonnet Pro 'Surround Waste Away,' letting it sit damp on the carpet for at least 10 minutes. Afterward, rinse thoroughly. If the odor persists, you may need to introduce steam to help neutralize odor-causing bacteria, or consider using an ozone generator. When it comes to strong odors, its not usually a simple process, with can contain many nuances which requires professional experience to handle effectively and efficiently. However, if on a budget, it might be worth trying. Good luck!
