I been using Geforce experience for many years, also just got the Nvidia APP a few months ago and never had any problems yet. was nervous to get the new APP but everything is working great on my end. Thanks for the tips, always helpful here Brian.

Try using NVCleanstall at least once, and you will never go back to the standard installation of drivers from nvidia again. It's fast, safe, and you can select individual components. I'm surprised this video didn't mention it, well unless I missed something.

I used to DDU and clean install but recent drivers are very bad with stutters until I started using NVCleanstall and disabling telemetry. Now smooth as butter on a 4080.

I switched from 4060 ti to 4080, and just installed whatever geforce told me, wld that be oke

I did clean installs for years, thinking they were better but not knowing any specific reason why. Finally decided to go back to regular installs. There have been no noticeable differences other than the burden of having to redo my settings with clean installs. The idea of clean installing may have a more positive vibe, but I haven't found it to be any better in practice. I'll still do a clean install when replacing a problem driver, but not otherwise.

I prefer using NVCleanstall and only installing Graphics drivers and nothing else. Program also prompts you when the new version of graphic driver is out. You also have more control when installing the whole Nvidia package. I also use Display Driver Uninstaller but only on a PC that i encounter a problem.

I personally will use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). This is the better option for both Nvidia and AMD in my opinion especially if you are having weird issue with your display.

DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) is not always necessary and adds more risk of things going wrong.

@@Britec09 For me it has always been the opposite. The issue at hand my not just be from a corrupt display driver but also from their HD audio driver or in case of Nvidia the PhysX driver. It is not necessary to use DDU when doing a regular update. But when your system is not respond like it should display wise, DDU is a great option.

What are such risks, if you don't mind me asking? All DDU does, is cleaning the driver component, driver store, as well as registry. There is literally nothing at risk of breaking if one should decide to use DDU.@@Britec09

thanks great walk through video, i used to do this method all the time as experience used to be so slow. but not had any issues with it lately. thanks for sharing

GeForce Experience auto installed a driver which bricked my system, so I've never used it since. I don't even get drivers from Nvidia. I get them from Guru3D, which is also where you can get DDU. Although DDU says Windows should be in Safe Mode when you use it, Wagnard, the creator, told me that it doesn't always have to be. I have a bluetooth keyboard which works via a dongle that only works when Windows starts. This means that the keyboard doesn't work during advanced startup, so I can't select safe mode from a list. What I do instead is to run DDU with Windows in normal mode, but, I clean and don't restart. Then, I sign out and in again and then run DDU again but clean and then restart. This properly gets rid of the old driver before I install a new one.

this never works for my i use DDU and boot into safe mode rip the drives out and then reinstall

Sadly my start menu no longer work after doing fresh install and the taskbar color changed to pitch black and cant click on any icon on right side of taskbar 😢

Why is the right click, 'open in new window/tab' in the Microsoft Edge favourites list, greyed out with the last update? Nothing in the settings to rectify it. Any answers to this Brian?

Knowing Failsoft it is a new bug that came with update. I would suggest you to switch to another browser, preferably avoid using Chromium based browsers if possible.

Hello.. the experience software always give error can't be installed. I always had to download the driver manually

Maybe try DDU to completly remove everything and try installing GPU driver again.

Omgg i realized that i downloaded the wrong driver, i was installing the 40 series but i only have Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. I didn't know what it was, i just followed tutorials and i just realized that now...

the stupid thing is they made nvcpl in to appx and forced ppl to use it and not having normal app version as alternative

The "Perform a clean installation" only deletes all (user) profiles and adjusted settings, as well as all the logs and checks the file integrity of the existing installation. Unlike DDU it does not fully wipes any traces of the driver from your system, nor does it deletes and cleans the registry from keys created and needed by the Nvidia driver. Please stop releasing such misleading and factual wrong content.
