How to clean the Kahr CT9.

In this video I field strip and clean the Kahr CT9 and share my thoughts on this pistol. It is my new winter carry pistol and it will be going back to the range soon for further break in.
While I whine and complain about the difficulty and re-assembly, I've already noticed that with practice (like most things) this pistol isn't too tough to disassemble and reassemble.

I lube with STP.

Invest in some brass punches. Or some short lengths dowel and a pencil sharpener. Those steel punches are hard on anything softer then they are.

The manual shows a plastic handle is used to push out the slide stop pin.

Learn to use motor oil and a tiny bit of Hi Temp WB Grease for your lube. If it slides. grease it; if it rolls, oil it. It stays where you put it and last a long time unlike most commercial lubes which run and burn off quite fast. About only thing I use RemOil for is to lube trigger assemblies as it drys fast and leaves a thin layer of DRI-Lube which doesn't seem to attract as much dust and debris etc. as oil. I actually mix a couple very small drops of syn motor oil to the very light coat of WB grease on the rail guides etc. Smoooooottttthhhh.

The rails on the frame are actually steel covered with polymer.

travisp11 on the reassembly I just got the gun and was trying to learn how to reassemble it pretty sure it's just the opposite just don't like videos having skips

James Such I usually film the reassembly in one take. I will go back and re edit this video. It is a difficult pistol to reassemble.

James Such all that I did was fiddle with the guide rod so that it would insert into the slide. The rest of the video should be fine.

Good video man! I am not much of a pistol man! I only own one. My EDCC. I end up getting a SPRINGFIELD XD s 9mm. At the time that I got my pistol. I was really wanting a Glock. But the CC size 9mm Glocks were hard to find. But I really like the XDs 9. Its always good to keep your fire arms clean! I am a AK-AR man mostly LOL!

rednecklowlife I may need to borrow an XD from Stan at SS Pawn. I fired an XD .45 once on a range trip a long time ago.
