How to clean throttle body on Nissan Frontier

I like your speed of instruction. When I did this, on my Xterra, there was a diagram for unbolting the hex bolts, in a specific order, and then also, to reinstall them. And the torque for the bolts is a 2 steps: 84-96 inch pounds (step 1), 13-16 foot pounds (step 2), for V6 engines. 🤙🏽 For anyone else who lands on this video for 2nd gen Xterra. 🫶🏽

One big tip for everyone: DO NOT move the throttle plate by hand. It's well known that these are very finicky units. Also, avoid getting any amount of fluid, cleaning or otherwise, in the shaft hole or on the electronics.

Thank you there are definitely not enough videos out there for this truck. I have an 06 I just had to replace all O2 sensors and all 4 cats, all because of 2 bad seals on the valve cover pass thru spark plugs. Last steps are clean the Mass and the throttle body.

I was going to take it off on my Rogue for cleaning but the engine was still hot and I noticed a coolant hose going to it. I would have done it but I didn't want to get burned with hot coolant. Maybe tomorrow I can get a chance to do it. I only sprayed some cleaner in it earlier to rid myself of slightly jerky acceleration. Not all jerky acceleration is the transmission so if you have that problem don't get too worried right away. You will want to try to do tune up items on it like cleaning the sensors, changing fluids and stuff. You may not think that stuff makes much of a difference but it can. You might not notice a lot of improvement just from doing one thing to it but everything helps.

I have a 2013 Xterra pro 4x, and I did the cleaning before I saw your video, but I probably made the mistake of also cleaning the inside of the small plastic squares, cause after I put it together and went for a test drive it was shuddering really bad.

Awesome !! My 2011 Pathfinder (same engine) most likely needs to be cleaned as a result of previous use of a K&N oiled filter. I will clean it carefully following what you did and thank you ! ... Is there an actual relearn process or you just have to drive it and wait for the ecm to figure it out ?

My Frontier let out a big gush of fluid when disconnected the coolant lines and it wasnt from the actual lines but instead the throttle body. What's up with that?!

You can try. Just be careful to not move the throttle plate by hand. Also, don't get any gasoline in the shaft opening or on the electronics.
