How to CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY on your Truck or Car / Does your vehicle die when you come to a stop?

Does your truck or car go dead when you come to a stop but starts and runs good? This could be the fix. In this video I demonstrate how to clean the throttle body on my 2006 Nissan Frontier Pickup Truck. This will be the basics for any vehicle that's fuel injected. Simple and Easy to do.

Beautiful video. I have 2007 Fronty V6 4.0. As of 02152023, 276k odo, same engine n tranny. One os best engine made. Keeping it till wheels fall out. Btw, I use Castrol magnatec 5w30 full syn.

I just did this to my 05’ PT Cruiser. I removed the throttle body to clean. It was overdue. It wants to bog down when I press the accelerator. If AC is on I notice it more so I turn off AC t0 take off. Seems to run smoother but next thing is to replace the oxygen sensor.

Are you getting a code for the Oxygen Sensor?

@@papawsplace Yes. I turned ignition switch on/off 3 times and gave me codes 31, and 37. We’ve had sensor replaced before. Also might be due for tune up. She’s my hoopty so I am working on restoring her. Was my first brand new car and she’s special to me. Had 4 miles on her when I drove her off the lot. Not I just hit 240k. My 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee is having some transmission issue so I cleaned up the PT. My husband used her to go back and forth to West Texas. Once his boss was taking her to Kerville and he hit a deer. Needs hood and fenders. Inside looks brand new though.

@@papawsplace sorry to hear that - hopefully it's not the fuel pump. My husband had to replace the fuel pump in our '96 Chevy 2500 and he had to drop the gas tank to do it. Essentially, a pain in the butt!!!! As someone else stated, could be the sensors, as well. I only know this from learning about them from my hubby, lol. So here's hoping it's not that! God bless!

Over here we call the flapper a butterfly buddy but from now on I will be known as the flapper as its a way better name for it Eddie. I has a car that used to cough and fart a bit and and found out it was a mass air flow censor that was needing changing, it never did it all the time just every now and then plus it sounded expensive so I left it alone, I thought that I have managed through life with a bit of a limp in the winter when It got real cold and damp and just like every other man I may have coughed and farted once or twice...a day but ive got 3 kids and a good lookin woman so it did me no harm, I guess that old car could live with the occasional cough and fart just fine. Lol, Well this did stop it from going dead when coming to stops but it still something else going on. So I'm doing some researching thinking it's the fuel pump going out. The only fuel pump I ever had go out in the pass when they quit hey quit so I'm a little confused. There is a camshaft senor that some forms say it could be also. I like your car story. @@papawsplace I always thought a pump just quits is the engine running lumpy before it stops, I believe ypu can get a thing to plug into the car that can give you any error codes from things not working properly, you would need to look those codes up to see what they mean but I think these little boxes are easily bought, ive no idea if this would help you figure out what's wrong, it would be strange it it were that maf sensor that's playing up on your truck too, funny as in strange not laughing buddy.

Yes Sir. I have a code reader and yesterday afternoon was the first time it threw me a code. P0340 Camshaft Sens Circ Error (BAnk1/1 Sens) so I'm looking into that before dropping that fuel tank to replace the fuel pump. I also can buy a fuel pressure gauge to check the fuel pressure before buying the fuel pump. That is expensive and not gonna be fun to drop that tank.

@@papawsplace that would be a long show brother and you may have to keep the grandson well out of earshot, every car I've had has taken a bite at me at one point or another I still can't feel the tip of one of my fingers. I'm not clever enough to even suggest anything about sensors, most of the cars I worked on when I was young didn't even have a brain they were all pugs and points things were easier back then.

If you have to replace the fuel pump, definitely keep the grandbaby out of ear shot, lol. It's not a fun experience, after having to watch (and listen) to my husband do it 😂
