HOW TO: Clean Two Stroke Power Valves / Exhaust Valves

In this two minute tech tip, I will show you the easiest way to clean the power valve or exhaust valve on your two stroke dirt bike! This will apply to all makes and models as in this video I am cleaning the power valve flaps on a Honda CR250 and the power valve on an Suzuki RM250.

Where are you getting parts from for that old of a bike? Not just power valve parts. I have a 93 yz250

@@cripplekid0902 It's hard man! I do a lot of my shopping from Rocky mountain ATV MC www.rockymountainatvmc.com/?ref=1057 for OEM especially. Then I search FB marketplace and or eBay for stuff!

Great infos. Good job and i have a question. I got a sandblast machine. You think its good for clean up if i protect the pivot point to clean up.

I'd try and steer clear of sandblasting because the media could be too abrasive on those parts. Vapor blasting would be a better option IMO

I did a top end for the first time and a lot of stuff my to my bike feels good but I wanna clean this I put it back together and I really don’t wanna take the whole cylinder out again does the whole cylinder have to come out or can I take it out with it on?

low end is crisp but in 3rd or 4th hard pull into powerband it just falls flat and i have to let off. can i clean this part without taking apart the engine? i just got the bike rebuilt wondering if they skipped this step? fresh crank up? lol its got black puddle of sludge after i use it looks like its coming from the power valve cover. first 2t

There is potential that the valves aren't opening all of the way at those higher RPM's in 3rd and 4th. So it doesn't do it in 2nd when you open it up?

Yes! I would definitely suggest taking it apart to get it cleaned out. Will run much better!
