I use Simple Green Concentrate mixed at about 65%/35% Concentrate to Water ratio that works great for grease clearing on my grilles and smokers. Weber also makes a good grate grill cleaner for heavy deposits. Simple green leaves no deposits and is biodegradable, inexpensive and available everywhere. Thanks for your videos-always informative and beneficial.

I just cleaned the pellet box which was full of carbon. Soak in Hoppes #9 gun cleaner for 6 hours. scrape with old 1/4" chisel. 99% came off. Recover #9 for future use after filtering with coffee filter. Or us use it on your weapon. Prevention is aluminum foil lining 3 sides of pellet box which will last 2/3 smokes.

Bought mainly almost exclusively for the ":smoker/wood flavor feature". Used as such on average once a week so about 50 times. The last 6 or so times the smoke feature got greatly diminished to where it hardly works. Have to ignite the wood pellet several times and do not get a continuous burn and the smoke doesn't go inside the cooking area. I tried new unopened bags. Seems to be soot build up in the internal passage. I called Ninja for help and they didn't help. They said we could start to initiate a return process. All I wanted to know and still want to know is how to clean the soot from inside where the smoke goes from the basket holder to inside the unit. The basket is cleaned and clear but it seems it has a severe lack of airflow. The fan works.
@scotclark7399
@scotclark7399 13 күн бұрын
*** UPDATE *** I fixed it and it's now back to GREAT again! I removed the pellet holder/basket and turned the unit upside down. I was able to look thru the bottom part of where the pellet basket goes and could see it was totally blocked with soot. I use a long, thin diameter flathead screwdriver and removed the soot. The mesh up there was blocked and the screwdriver fit well between the openings. Then I had to clean and clear to passage that runs from there and under the hood to the fan. I used a flat flexible piece of metal from a green hanging file folder. It worked great. While cleaning both sections I used Easy-Off Degreaser along the way to help. Ninja should think about making an access panel to make it easier to clean out. It was one heck of a job. I'll be cleaning that area out maybe like after 20 times or so of usage so it never gets blocked again.

Thanks CJ. I am getting a real sticky goopy build up around the pellet box and it just doesn't want to respond to my wire brush or general vinegar and water...also not to a good grill cleaner. I use both Ninja pellets and Weber pellets. The pellet box lid at times just doesn't want to open and I'm afraid I'll break it off forcing it to open to clean it even a little. Any suggestions?

@@CookingWithCJ I found the culprit to be Lumber Jack/Weber pellets, it seems. I had switched to Weber Apple pellets a month ago and I guess they have more resin, pitch and tar. However after the preheat cooled down we went out to see what it looked like on the inside and it looked like it was used for food..much like your cleaning video. It it is brand new and we only tried the pre heat setting ! Should it have looked like that ? The grime is black and greasy.

I reckon you are not supposed too, I read that somewhere. Otherwise its materials will lose the anti-adherence features... what I do, with the removable parts, I just keep them in the sink under a mix of detergent and hot water for 5-10 min, then it's extremely easy to clean-up.

It’s somewhat annoying but I’ve just learned to fast forward or just read the comments down below. As a video editor I would suggest cutting out some of the redundancy. Will definitely make your videos better, cleaner, and a tad shorter. Again it’s just a friendly suggestion. Grill on!

Would heating up the Grill on the bake or air fryer function work...maybe a hairdryer on the joint? I live in Minnesota and we left the grill out after the cook in temps around 30 degrees...I think that "tar " froze. We have it inside the house and it will not budge. I used the Kona pellets because it sounded like they would not produce as much Creosote...do you have a favorite low-creasote brand of pellet? BTW...our roast turned out perfectly...maybe a bit dry, but very flavorful Thanks in advance!

Get an Oven Liner or Silcone Bake sheet for about €3, and then makes mega Flat Top Burgers. If super adventurous you could try and make Pancakes!! For cleanup; its a wipe and go, 5 Seconds, then reuse, you should get 3 or 400 Re-uses.
