Thank you! Since then we have some success with this process. Some molds result in great chocolates, and some with what looks like sugar bloom spots all from the same batch of chocolate. I would like to attach a picture but I do not see a attachment icon. We have stopped using wooden spoons since I read Wood and chocolate do not mix. Room temperature is 65 to 70. Chill in walk in for 25 minutes in covered rack. Any other factors I should address? Your knowledge and expertise is greatly appreciated!

Any tips for keeping breads baked in silicone from "bloating" while in the over? My silicone bread mold filled with batter "bloats" while baking so the bread load turns out looking odd.

If I use my silicone molds for soap making can I still use those same molds for other things like baking, notion bars, candles, etc? My Lye is food grade if that makes a difference.

As a soap maker I can tell you No You should not under any circumstances use them for food once you have used them for soap and cosmetics. And You Wouldn't Want to. the fragrance will transfer to the food and ruin it.

Hello, Great Vid. I work making chocolates all day but we are a new company making 2000 per batch. Even after we wash our chocolates molds a few days later they get a white film on them and in the round cavities which is hard to clean. We use hot water and vinegar then rinse, but we have not tried your trick with boiling water and vinegar. Are we fighting the same problem?

+Clint Richmond thanks for the comment! Yes this can be very frustrating, the cocoa butter bonds to the silicone. The vinegar and boiling water has worked for us very well, however we have also found that if you bake the molds (empty) at 350F for 45 minutes and then rinse, the molds regain there shine and shed the cocoa butter film. Just be sure to check that the molds you are using can withstand that heat. If you are using molds from Chicago Mold School, our purple molds can be used up to 450F/ 232C, while our blue molds can be used up to 300F/ 148C, and both can be used in blast freezers.

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear of your black fungus problems, we've never had these problems before. Have you cleaned out the molds with boiling water? You may need to get them as hot as the silicone allows to clean them. If that doesn't help, it may be time to get new molds. Better safe than sorry, don't want to get anyone sick.
