thanks for this video. It's easy to understand. It's short. No long intros. No long commentary. Straight and to the point. I will be doing this tomorrow

Best way is get Dawn dish soap. pour in hose.Fill up with water or submerge in a tote. let sit 5 min, then if you have a pressure washer, stick the wand in the hose spray until clean and go at it until clean takes about 12 min start to finish. No manual labor
@HooverLux7 ай бұрын
That’s definitely another good method 🤗

You know I’ve never thought of that very clever Dorian . I normally wash out with fairy liquid and warm tap running . Now I have a easier way and know it will be clean . Thanks so much for this .😀😀👍👍👍👍

Im here looking for a faster way to dry, I soaked the hose in dawn/water. went back & fourth moving water inside and just let clean water run thru it til clear. I may try using auto microfiber clothes over a broom such as you demonstrated and what I did before that was still not dry after almost 2 days was extending the hose held down by exercise bike etc I had my air cleaner blowing into it, figured there was "something" easier then even trying a hair dryer next haha
@HooverLux Жыл бұрын
The fastest way I can think of is using a hairdryer or a blower, they do take days to dry.

This is pretty genius. I've been trying to do just this for so long. What is the size of the pale you use for the water?
@HooverLux3 жыл бұрын
Aww bless, thank you and hope it works. The pale size doesn’t really matter to be honest as long as the hose fits in it to soak. Good luck and please let me know how you get on 🤗

I have some DC07S and DC14S hoses. What I do if put all of them all in a big bucket with warm water and washing powder and leaving them to soak for maybe few hours help. Then afterwards rinse with clean water.
@HooverLux Жыл бұрын
That would definitely help clean them out.

Careful if the hose is longer than the broomstick because the cloth will get stuck halfway up the tube. Learned the hard way lol

If the hose is not a stretchy one, then yes.

That is a great idea when it warm outside, when cold I have to clean inside. I have a 28 inch long tapered bottle brush to use (in a utility tube with hot running water) run water in hose, insert brush at each end and rinse. A few times of this and done, let dry in garage by hanging one end from ceiling and a weight on bottom end to stretch hose
@HooverLux4 жыл бұрын
Thats one heck of a brush! Awesome idea too. 🤗
@a.a6744 жыл бұрын
I usually soak them and use a long radiator brush to get all the gunk out,Then I hang them out the window while one end is attached to my Numatic NV250 or Kerstar so its hot air dries the hose, if its a standard fixed hose,I use a stuff dish brush and scrub the outside too
@HooverLux4 жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea using the brush too.

I very long nosed pliers? Contract the hose and use a long pliers to grab a bit and pull it out

If you have any hose with electrical wire going through it or along it I wouldn’t recommend using this method at all. This would only be for hoses without any wires or connectors.

Hi there, I’ve absolutely no idea why you couldn’t wash out the hose? I’ve done it to all my old vacuums that need cleaning out. I had so many messages about how to wash the hoses, that’s why I made the video. Unless the hose is braided material like the ones from 50 years ago, there is absolutely no reason why you can’t wash the hose like I have I done. All plastic hoses can be washed this way, follow the steps on how I did it, especially letting it dry out stretched out and is completely dry, you’ll have no issues. Although! It absolutely depends on the quality of the hose and you do it gently and don’t force the cloth through, you’ll be fine. Please follow the steps and let me know how you get on 🤗
@HooverLux3 жыл бұрын
PS. Most of the restorers put the hoses in old pillow cases and put them in the washing machine 🤣

Thank you! I guess shark is just trying to get me to spend more money bc when I called them they said no but I did it anyway bc I was getting a new one and it still works I even sprayed the roller and it's fine... If I told shark they would gasp and be your lucky it didn't break jokes on them it works better now and I don't have to buy pieces
