Thank you Sharron for reminding us of the the things we found during lockdown - the camaraderie, the peace, the determination to work together and help each other - the sense of community. We have to work hard to keep that now there are so many distractions again. Let's slow down a bit and give each other a bit of time and attention... You've inspired me to do that

I’m a senior in highschool right now and i’ve been going through this “lockdown” since wayy before it even started, in fact I didn’t even notice a difference. I attend classes virtually and get to see my parents for about an hour a day otherwise i’m alone in my thoughts. You completely forget what it’s like to socialize and be normal and it’s gotten to the point where i’m always in fighter flight mode having panick attacks even thinking about going out in public. I use to be completely normal too isolation will ruin anyone’s life.

I'm now in my 50s, an electrical engineer living in Silicon Valley. I'm an active musician too. But, I have no family, no parents, no kids, no close friends, and no love. I'm totally isolated among 7 million people. If I were to disappear tomorrow only the bill collectors would notice. : (

Good talk but though you did mention some people have lives that are lines with more downs, those periods of overwhelming pain and sadness can be decades long and still ongoing.

It's not easy. I was isolated before covid because I'm hard of hearing. I can't hear well, so who wants a worker who can't hear well? No one. Even pretty girls don't want to date someone who can't hear well. It's terrible. I'm Haunted Asylum... always

why? Your with the only person you know that is loyal, understanding, and compassionate to you. If social isolation cuts my lifespan, which it clearly is now doing, the price will still be worth it.
