great advice. thanks. I'm all prepped (8ft x 8ft shed base) for mixing 1:5 concrete tomorrow - just a bit worred that it's cold. forecast is to start day tomorrow (Sat) about 0 degrees, get u to about 5, and maybe fall to -1 first night. My plan was keep it all covered until pour (as I've done all week), and tonight, stick a fan heater under tarp, to keep it warm all night. to use hot water for mixing, and then cover it with plastic, then 4 king size duvets and then the tarp above. maybe put fan heater in again, to keep it a bit warmer. is this a good plan or am I being mad - and should put up with having 2 tons of aggregate on my drive, and hire a cement mixer in a few weeks or a months time when its not as cold? (in ipswich just doon the road)

Don’t use hot water but once the ice clears you can soon do that , then make sure you really cover it up, you should be ok 👍

How wide and deep were the footings on which you layed the double brick skins? Is 600cm wide correct for a double skin concrete block summerhouse with insulation cavity?

5-1 the all in was really sandy looking colour, I had to keep looking at it, but it set really hard, cheers for watching 👍

On the Norfolk , Suffolk border, did some work for a Yarmouth firm a few years ago , I think they were called Holmes, had a yellow transit pickup, boxed at the hiperdrome years ago, cheers for watching 👍👍

Doug it was all about timing, we couldn’t get concrete delivered when we wanted it , so we went old school but without a diesel mixer, but we got the job done, 👍👍keep warm my friend ☃️
