How to connect a Pioneer DDJ-SX2 with Turntables

Hey thanks for the video. I have the sx2. However when I play normal vinyl on phono, the sound is very flat and nowhere near if I plugged my vinyl in a normal analog mixer. I want to use a preamp, but not sure if that is enough to boost the sound. Also how do I set up the preamp? Turntable plug into preamp and then preamp goes into phono int he back of the sx2? Thanks for your help

Hey, correct me if wrong. Since you are using a preamp connected to your turntable phono output, the signal will be boosted, so you will then connect to CD/line input on the mixer/SX2.

Man, I used to live in an appt and I had one of those coffin cases to carry my 12s and my mixer. I had to take that whole thing down plus all my krates records into a small civic for parties. On point, 2 hour setup, 2 hour breakdown. Fuckin sweating at the end of the night lol. I'm getting back into DJing and trying to find a controller for that exact reason. Think I might go with a used SX-2-- looks like you can do some creative crazy shit with it. Things done changed but definitely for the better lol

So curious but stupid question, if I hook up turn tables to the DDJ SX3 would I be able to use the full functionality of the controller with the turn tables? (slip mode, hot cues, slicer, etc)

No I don't believe so - only the onboard effects of the controller. Some have none some have a decent amount of onboard hardware effects. DDJ1000 for instance. You are looking for software effects which won't happen I don't believe since Serato wont be able to interact without Timecode vinly

Yes, you can select 3 and 4 for your turntables and use 1 and 2 for the platters on the controller

I have the DDJ-SR2 but I can’t get it to control Serato. I purchase the DVS expansion pack & says it should work but I can get Thru mode to play regular vinyl just not to control Serato.

question trying to help my friend who has a SX3 hook up a turntable. He has Serato Dj Pro, but he does not have the options of Rel and ABS mode. Is the only solution to fix this to purchase the DVS Mode expansion pack from Serato??? Should it have come with the SX3 when he purchased it? I started with a SL2 a long time ago and never had to get the expansion (Assuming that it acts as the sound card, but seems that the sx3 should have come with the ability to use vinyl) Thanks for the help in advance
