It should. I rescued a totally broken screen laptop from a yard sale free box years ago set it up with vga adapter to listen to podcasts and my archive data dvd files and photo/video files that my bluray player can't play.

i think theres a mode on the tv that you have to set to hdmi just like the steps you do to access a video from a usb flashdrive.

I have a desktop computer with Windows 10 installed. I have the hdmi cable connected from my computer to my tv. When I select hdmi1 on my tv Windows sets my tv as Display 1. But I want my tv as Display 2. I have been unable to change the tv from Display 1 to Display 2 in the Settings Display screen. I finally unplugged the hdmi cable to my tv. I restarted Windows and the display Settings reverted my computer monitor back to the desired Display 1 and I don't have a connection to display my tv as a second monitor. I noted in this video that the Tech Guru selected the hdmi on his tv and then plugged in the hdmi cable to his computer. I tried that but when I click the link Advanced Displayed Settings it shows that my tv is still Display 1 and my computer monitor is Display 2. So, I unplugged the hdmi cable to my tv. I restarted Windows and the display Settings reverted my computer monitor back to the desired Display 1 and I still don't have a connection to display my tv as a second monitor. Anybody have any thoughts as to the steps such that my computer monitor is set to Diplay 1 and my tv will be set to Display 2?
