You forgot to mention one important step: after enabling your phone as a mobile hotspot, you will need to check in your phone's drop-down notifications for a Mobile Hotspot notification. You will also need to click on it and make sure that this setting is in USB Tethering mode and not Data Sharing mode. EDIT: One other important note here is that if using an internet connection other than your phone's provider, you should disable Mobile Hotspot and use Bluetooth Tethering instead. You may need to use a cable to connect your phone and computer but this is the preferable option to using a phone's much more limited data plan.

Please kindly check your cable well. Some USB cables are for just charging. So make your you get a better cable. Secondly if your WiFi is not showing on your PC, make your there is a wireless adapter on your PC. This should help you to connect your phone. Let me hear from after that

That is an amount of data that your connection can download or upload. So when choosing an internet package, kindly ask or check that from your ISP(Internet service Provider) You can check your connection speed by heading to fast.com ( Make sure you are connected to the internet that you want to check the speed) Secondly if your pc is running slow, it might yield it into the speed creating an impression that your connection speed is very bad.

When I go to my laptop and click on the name of my phone for WiFi connection it says that I should open browser and connect. When I click on the link to open the browser, the browser opens up, but can't connect to the Internet. My phone has mobile hotspot as part of its plan.

Please did you turn on your mobile hotspot? If yes then when you tap on the WiFi connection from your PC , kindly locate the name you use on your phone hotspot connection and connect. It should connect you successfully when you connect. And kindly make sure your phone data is on and you have bundle as well. Let me know if you still face some challenges
