This project is ahead of its time. Hope someones gonna dig this upafter 200 yrs and say ,,and this is how it all begun,, . Love you guys.
@xunk165 жыл бұрын
Technically, the how it all began could be traced back to the General Electric Beetle Mobile Manipulator. (Got the lead from Megabot themselves on twitter.) That thing is so old (1958-1962), that one has to wonder to which extent it would have inspired the apparition of Mecha in the anime industry. Which in turn lead to Battletech, Robotech, and the american mecha craze of the 80s-90s. Then you'd have the Megabot "Iron Glory" Mk.I and Kuratas which were practically built at the same time. And then you have the Megabot "Eagle 1" Mk.II ... I'm still unsure where does the korean METHOD II fits into the whole thing though. There are other contemporaries... but none that seem to stand the comparison. They are more like very big animatronics.
@de05095 жыл бұрын
Probably not the future in this timeline. To stand upright means to be more visible to the enemy. The only useful thing that a giant robot could be useful for is to traverse rough terrain, and thats if it uses legs instead of tracks. That, or to momentarily get taller to attack before going back down to the ground to avoid detection. Long story short, the need for giant robots would be specific to a mission and not something that every country must have.

As you have a completed design, it seems good to build another one to start a battle between two pilots. With exist design and plan, it is way easier to gain investment than anything unpredictable. This could start from a same type (your type) robot battle, then grow into multi-type robot battle. Really love the excitement came from the last battle, please keep fight and bring us more.

that would also give you an idea on where the weak spots are to help cover up and protect, as well as a full range of abilities and disabilities. you can also get some really well trained pilots as well!

At first I was like : AWESOME! Then it got more to : .................... Incredible. Seriously though. Thanks for this one. It suddenly gives a whole new dimension to everything you have been doing with Eagle 1. Plus, it's fun to learn how real mecha technobabble should sound like. In fact, I'm retrospectively more impressed by anything you have managed to do with such a complicated control scheme. It does feel a lot more like MechWarrior than any Asian designs. Hence, the pilots that will manage to make it move right will most certainly deserve to be called athletes. Must be quite a thrill to ride... :) Still, one has to wonder if the balance issues with motion control wouldn't be resolved by a good pilot faster than it will possible to obtain a good pilot for such a beast. A fine technological race has started.

ChronoFlation Agreed, gigs would really help pay for this beast. I imagine it guzzles fuel with all the weight it has to push around. Mix that with upkeep and team pay/care, and it’s growing into an expensive operation. Do they have sponsors or any major backers?

It seems good to me that each control is used for one side of the robot, but the same thing should happen to lower and raise the robot, for example if a single control moves to the left, the robot tilts, if the 2 controls are at the right, the robot moves sideways, if both controls point outwards the robot goes up, if both controls point inside, the robot goes down

NICE!!! Let me ask you a question? Could you ever create a personal handheld drone that could carry a human ? So think about the "umbrella" from Fortnite that contains an enclosed prop or 2 with draft that can be blasted outward. Containing a gyroscope to keep level and a flexible prop system to retract. You could use a long torque engine in a tube and thin batteries inside the system. Made from flexible yet very strong material and the electronics could feature GPS that you could add "waypoints " that it could fly to. Also, safety would include pitch safety controls and height "ceiling" limits.
