@@guitarschoollive I have a Mac (old) now. I was using Linux/Ardour for years, but also Win Cakewalk. (wish dual booting was easier these days...) First seq on a C64, MasterTracks. I prefer cross-platform s/w, so.... open source is my jam. BUT, Amplitube is a great piece of software, great support, etc. I'll first try to find a "native" DAW amp sims (ckwk, gband, reap) first. (yeah, go head, call me a commie....layabout, slacker, degenerate,... ) ;-) These devices open up great opportunities for younger and poorer folks to learn & explore stuff that was only available to $$$$ 20 years ago... SHARING info is gonna get you a lot more followers.... (hey, is Windows Open Source yet?...) Thanks!! (if u have M-vaves ear, tell 'em to write scripts for this stuff. (executibles over BT?....that's what software is for....)

Most users get 2 controllers; one set to ‘Program Change A or B’ for changing presets and one set with the hex codes for toggling effects. I hope this helps. Hello @baburix1, thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Most Amplitube users have 2 Chocolate controllers; one for changing presets and one for toggling effects. If you use only one controller you will be limited to changing only four presets and toggling four effects. If you don’t need to toggle effects and just want to change presets quickly you can use the ‘Program Change A’ mode in Cubesuite. I hope this helps. Hello @tarsomastella3124, we’re happy you found the video useful. You are correct in that Amplitube makes it difficult. The good news (or bad depends on how you look at it) is that Amplitube is a problem for many controllers not just the Chocolate. Since they have their own proprietary controller they don’t make midi implementation easy to use with other controllers. The Hex Codes are standard midi Hexadecimal numbers. To break it down let’s take a look at the code for pedal A: B0 01 00 B0 01 7F B0 initiates a CC number 01 is the actual CC number 00 sends an Off Message B0 initiates a CC number 01 is the actual CC number 7F sends an On Message Amplitube does not toggle CC messages that are sent from Program mode C on the Chocolate. The Hex Codes are a workaround. BTW, if you need to change CC numbers for different effects you only need to modify the 2nd and 5th numbers in the Hex Code to your desired CC number. I'm on Mac. I completed the configuration on CubeSuite. But on AUDIO/ MIDI settings on Amplitube I only have: Bluetooth midi (I connected also via bluetooth), SINCO and ANY. So the Chocolate only switch between different presets when I press and hold on it, but I cannot see any option "Assign MIDI". Why? What's the problem? And also, it's possible to use it only via bluetooth on Mac? Thanks.

Hello @daleplay1978, thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Chocolate controller will change presets if you use ‘Program Change A or B’ in Cubesuite. This will give you the ability to change 128 presets. However, if you need to toggle effects you must use the Hex code in ‘Advanced Custom Mode’ which will limit you to no more than 8 possible combinations. Amplitube and Guitar Rig are the most difficult to implement midi with out of all of the Amp sims. Most Amplitube users get 2 Chocolate controllers; one for changing presets and one for toggling effects. I hope this helps. All midi controllers are essentially the same as they transmit data at the same speed in congruence with their connection method. Ex: • All USB connected controllers transmit data at the same speed as other USB connected controllers. • All Bluetooth controllers transmit data at the same speed as other Bluetooth controllers. • Same for midi connections. Note: Bluetooth is the slowest connection method Your results will be exactly the same with the Blueboard as latency is caused by a variety of reasons ranging from audio drivers to computer speed to software setup. I would suggest starting with the sample rate and buffer size settings in Amplitube as this is the easier way to start troubleshooting. Follow these steps: • Click the 3 lines in the upper right corner of Amplitube to open settings • Select the ‘AUDIO/MIDI’ tab and click “CONTROL PANEL’ to open your audio settings • Change the buffer size to as low as possible without your sound cracking or distorting • Raise your sample as high as possible without your sound cracking or distorting I hope this helps. With regards to the hex code, why are we using it instead of MIDI CC? Is it a better implementation? Is Amplitube not accepting MIDI CC? Just asking as I have the MVAVE on the way.

Hello Gero Sinsuan, thank you for asking a very good question. Amplitube requires 2 CC messages to toggle,1 on message and 1 off (similar to note messages) Most other amp sims will simply toggle each time a CC message comes in. The Chocolate sends a single message in mode C (CC mode) which means it will turn an effect on but it can’t turn it off. With the Chocolate you could use ‘Advanced mode/Single Step:Switch between 2 banks’ and place an ‘on CC message’ in bank A and an ‘Off’ in bank B but then you will not have the ability to both toggle effects and switch presets. The hex code is a hack that forces Amplitube toggle. Amplitube has it’s own proprietory midi controller so it doesn’t play nice with many 3rd party controllers. I hope the reply was sufficient. So... in following this setup, would I be able to switch presets and toggle stomps on/off while using amplitube 5 as a plugin in Cakewalk? The Chocolate controller can be used to control Amplitube in Cakewalk but it requires a different configuration than what is outlined in this video. This is done by clicking the down arrow that is surrounded by a bracket in the top menu bar. After you save it your midi bindings will remain when you switch away from the preset and return. The chocolate controller will work with Amplitube, however most users get 2 controllers; one for changing presets and one for toggling effects. If you use only one controller you will be limited to changing only four presets and toggling four effects. I hope this helps. Unfortunately Amplitube crashes FL studio on our systems every time we attempt to load it (we have several computers and get the same result on all of them). We have contacted IK Multimedia several times for a solution (more than a year) but they have never responded. We are using version 5.7. standalone and 5.2 vst. If you are able to load the vst in FL studio let us know if you’re using an earlier version. Perhaps we can find it and load it. Guitar School Live

@@guitarschoollive I'm using 5.5.2, didn't have problems with loading. Just to mention - the mapping works flawless in my standalone Amplitube client, so it must be something about FL Studio not passing the MIDI signal to VST.

too bad it doesnt work for me. did the exact same thing as you, however switching presets doesnt work (im using vst amplitube 5 in reaper if thats the difference) and regarding the effects, i can only switch them on, when i press again, nothing happens. and when i set latch to ON, nothing happens at all. sad

Hello Carne de papa, thank you for reaching out to us for assistance. Controlling Amp Sims with bluetooth only works with Ipad. If you have an Android you can connect via bluetooth to the Cubesuite to program it. However if you’re using a PC you must have the bluetooth adapter that plugs into both the controller and the PC. Here are the steps: • Turn the controller off • Hold pedals 1 and 6 down and turn back on • Continue holding until the countdown finishes If you have a configuration you want to save before you reset the controller you can save the sysex with the editor. The above steps are based on the assumption that you have the stock chip and you are using midi cables to a midi input device. If you are using an aftermarket chip your PC messages may be offset by 1. If you are using a USB to midi cable the only cable known to work consistently with the FCB1010 is the Roland USB to midi cable. Hello @jaimis5377, thank you for your comment. If you wish to simply change presets you can use ‘Program Change A’ or ‘Program Change B’. However , if you wish to toggle effects the only way it is possible at this time is to use the hexadecimal codes. Most Amplitube users get 2 controllers; one for changing presets and one for toggling effects. Have you tried it with other amp sims to see if you have the same issue; or is it specific to Amplitube? If the controller is saving its settings then the issue is with how you are using Amplitube.
