My new apartment has this issue and I’m hoping I can do something similar without having to drill through the tile. So thanks for this! Hopefully I can do the diverter tub spout and just tacky the shower head to the tile lol.

Good luck. This isn't the most exotic solution but it'll work.

This is super helpful! Please be aware that the two affiliate amazon links in the description to the two different spouts are actually the same link. I think you meant to post the Delta U1010-PK for one of them.

@@FixEverythingYourself great job on explaining everything. I would like to ask how much was this project and the time frame it took to complete it. Just for more understanding. But besides that. Very well explained video great job 👏

Sure. I think the shower surround was about $300. Then the plywood and fasteners. Lastly, the new faucet and shower house. So probably about $400 or so. I think I finished the project over the course of a weekend (2 days). Can't remember exactly but it wasn't a monumental project, just a little time-consuming.

I'm trying to add a shower above my bathtub. The wall is already opened up. I need to know how to add the plumbing inside the wall. The tub plumbing has a place to add a vertical pipe for the shower. How do I connect a new copper pipe to a behind-the-wall "manifold" which currently only has a tub spout? I haven't yet found a KZbin video that shows how to add on the plumbing.

Sorry, that's a bit more complicated than the repair I do in the video. Don't think I could give you adequate instructions via text. I suggest looking for other YT videos if you haven't already. Good luck!

Did you have to add any water resistant product to the walls? Or is it okay just to add the shower walls onto the painted walls?
@FixEverythingYourself2 жыл бұрын
Nothing on the walls other than paint. I just attached the shower surround to that.

I would have just ran copper through the wall and soldered it. It's not too hard to do, and looks more professional... but that will work I guess... Also, you didn't use any water proofing material. Plastic and fiberglass are prone to cracking easily, and without any water proofing, you run the risk of leaking water back on the drywall and causing a nasty mold situation. If you're doing it for secondary, guest bath, or the studio above your shop or something, its probably okay... I give you a C+ ... Would have been an B, BUT you used a Push-Connect or "shark bite" fitting on the faucet! (Which is another disaster waiting to happen), and you left unfinished edges around the surround... Again, I understand you're not a pro, and for a DIY job, its far from the worst that I've seen... wayyy far.. lol It's just a little rough around the edges... literally. The quality of your video is good and thankfully, doesn't have annoying music competing with your voice. Best of luck! Cheers.

Thanks. Yes, this is an extra bathroom for teenagers to use. It's going to get trashed. And yes, finishing off the edges was one thing I left out but should've included. Thanks for the comment!
