Be careful watch what you buy because they come in 2 different forms!!!! I had to learn the hard way! 1-Comes as RCA Out to HDMI in and the other Comes RCA In to HDMI Out! Pay close attention to what you need! I tried to connect a Chromecast in my workshop and ended up buying 2 devices. I bought the RCA Input to HDMI Output, but needed HDMI Input to RCA Output! Great to the point video and explanation! Thanks! Definitely wish I would have seen this vid before buying the wrong device and getting upset when it didn't work.

You don't actually need the power on this adapter despite what the box says. I think that the usb port is left over from the design of the RCA to usb adapter. For anyone looking to buy this item, it works, however text is very hard to read.

I have the same converter and I have a 14 "Sony Trinitron CRT connected to my pc via HDMI, I use it for retro games, by default the device forces my TV to show 720p screens although I understand that technically it cannot with both the TV What I did was configure as the 2nd monitor with 640x480 resolution and it seems to be working fine, am I forcing something?

If you're only watching movies on it, go ahead and get a cheap upscaler box from amazon. If you're wanting to game on it, I recommend the OSSC.

You need an RCA to HDMI converter. Make sure it has RCA input and HDMI output. I connected my PS2 and VCR to my HDMI PC Monitor and worked well. Most of the converters have a switch that sets the output resolution 720p or 1080p I recommend for VCRs and gaming consoles the 720p resolution and for DVD Players the 1080p.

I need the opposite. I need to connect my TV, which only has HDMI outputs to an analog stereo, which only has RCA and 3.5mm inputs. Previously I connected my TV's 3.5mm headphone output (AKA: Variable Analog Audio Out) to my stereo's L/R 3.5mm inputs via a one to two cable. But new TV's don't have Variable Analog Audio Out jacks and the Digital to Analog Audio Converter I bought uses the TV's Digital Optical Audio output which doesn't seem to be working.

I also have a MINI AV2HDMI converter but mine has 720P / 1080P switches and not NTSC / PAL. I also have to get a power supply. I'm trying to connect a refurbished Toshiba DVD/ VCR recorder combo, but don't know if my MINI is a compatible adapter. I also don't understand why the PC HDMI input doesn't serve as a power source to begin with. Then, if I get it connected, do I need an app or video software to play tapes / discs.

I just purchased one and it working. I plug white and red to tv and white and red to my amp. Then yellow in to tv. When going from HDMI to RCA there is data loss because HDMI can transmits various types of data like HD Video, Surround sound etc. Where as in RCA only Video and stereo audio is available. So we wont be able to convert the signal the other way around as there not enough data.

If you want to connect your N64 or GameCube to an HD TV/Monitor using HDMI input you need an RCA TO HDMI Converter. You need an RCA to HDMI converter. Make sure it has RCA input and HDMI output. I connected my PS2 and VCR to my HDMI PC Monitor and worked well. I am using an old TEAC Audio/Video Surround Receiver (ag-v8520) which unfortunately has no HDMI connections. So what I am trying to do is connect my Sony Blu-ray Disc Player (BDP-S3700) to it so that I can watch video with sound from the Sony's USB Flash Drive input. I have been able to do this by connecting the Sony through the use of Coaxial Digital Cable to RCA Adapter into the receiver's DVD/Video 3 RCA connection. This has allowed me to watch and hear anything except 1080p in mkv format. Mp4 is no problem, nor is 720p mkv. So I am wondering if you know of anyway I might also be able to get 1080p in the mkv format? Thanking you in advance for all that you do to help us electronics dummies. :)

Nevermind. :) Sometimes I just don't think. All I have to do is change (rename) the extension from mkv to mp4 (they're basically the same container) and everything plays just fine.

I already have it set up with an adapter to my BLU RAY DVD PLAYER for movies and that's working fine... But can i also connect an older model ROKU player? ... Side note.. I Have been able to get the Roku player home screen up, however, I don't have the remote to it. I have an old DVD/VCR Magnavox with RCA cables in the back and a Samsung 4K smart tv that only allows HDMI there are no RCA ports at all.
