HOW TO CONVERT SIMS3PACKS TO PACKAGE FILES (CC, Sims, Lots, Worlds)

I just wanted to say thank you so much for explaining this. I recently deleted S4 and moved S3 from my laptop to PC. Apparently, the launcher isn't compatible with it. I have to open my game through Task Manager and cannot install Sims3Packs through the launcher. This worked for me! Amazing!

a heads up to everyone : do *NOT* convert sims3pack *patterns* to package file unless the creator said that you could ! if you do so, there is a *very* hiiigh chance that the pattern will not work and therefore create the "repeating pattern" glitch in create a style ! it's not harmful to your game, it's just that 1. the downloaded patterns won't work and 2. your create a style will be bloated with the same pattern repeating again and again (very fcking annoying if you ask me 😂) this is caused by the way patterns made in created a pattern are coded or something like that, they are all assigned the same "instance number" when converted which makes them appear all as the same so when converting a house, look out for the files categories as "patterns" in delphy's dashboard to either take them out of your game entirely or doing a long ass process to make the pattern usable as a package to those who are devoted to keep their patterns in .packages there is this very useful tutorial by ktarsims that teaches you how to do it. i tried it, it works, but it's tedious and time consuming especially if you have a lot. i will leave the link to her post if anyone is brave enough to do it lmao : ktarsims.tumblr.com/post/156605400183/pattern-hoarder-tutorial/amp hopefully that helps somebody, and maybe you too nicole as i've noticed that glitch in your game ^^ thank you so much btw for this vid, it was very useful to me when i got a new pc and reinstalled everything ! you are wonderful 💕💕

what do you mean by patterns? are you referring to the color wheel?

@@sunflower7874 yes basically the patterns when you edit something in create a style, where the color wheel appears, but by patterns i mean like the zebra print, stripes, bricks, etc.. ^^ the basic ea patterns are not affected by this issue, just some of the custom content one you download ! hope this helped ☺️

Hi! Quick question. I have a LOT of packs to convert and I'm starting that process now. Once you convert a pack and move it into a folder in Mods, did you then go back into the launcher and uninstall and delete all the packs? I'm a bit paranoid that I'm going to mass convert then delete packs from the launcher but then something goes wrong and the packages don't work and I've lost my cc. I guess I'm wondering what the full process for converting is: convert > mods folder > uninstall from launcher? Thanks!

Thanks for the tip on installing converted worlds! That's good to know. Would you happen to know why some sims don't install when I convert them to package files and place them in my mods folder? I just converted 4 sims and 3 of them don't show up in my CAS premades. I've never had this issue before.

Thanks for this video, my game suddenly won't install .sim3pack files anymore and you definitely saved me! I have just one doubt: about converting lots you say you move all the CC files in the mods folder, and I was wondering if you can put them in te library folder instead.

No you have to put them in the mods folder! (Or in cc magic if you use that) you only have to put the lot file in the library folder. If you only get 1 file after converting a lot then you have to put a copy in the mods and library folder

Hi! Thanks for your tutorial! I had one question: when i installed a world, everything in my world has missing descriptions, for example a household description looks like "Gameplay/Excel/DOT06_World/ Household:BeachBumsDescription" instead of the actual description. Is this the same for you? Do I have to adjust everything manually? Thanks :)

Yes that also happens to me with the store worlds! You need to download the language files from blamseastore and put those in your mods folder, then the names will look normal again! blamseastore.tumblr.com/search_by_world

If you only get one file after converting then you have to put a copy of it in your mods folder and in your library folder!

How about the installed content that comes with the world? Should I move the Library content to the shared bin folder also? I find that when I open the new launcher to install a world, after following the steps when I go into the game it shows me the file name for everyone on the lot. Any advice for this?

I don’t recommend converting store items yourself but I recommend getting them from blamseastore on tumblr! Everything is already in package files blamseastore.tumblr.com

Commenting here because i've found no help for this online :( I wanted to download a sim from the store because I really liked them and I tried using the method you did with the sim files but I just keep getting weird files that are just jumbles of letters and numbers instead of a sims package file and I'm unsure what to do now :(((

When you get multiple package files you have to put all of those in your mods folder/cc magic! But I recommend checking the files with Sims 3 Dashboard to make sure there’s no bad cc. Sometimes bathroom counters will be attached to them so you shouldn’t put that package file in your game because it’s glitched cc

This made my game extremely slow at loading the game up to the point where it took so long i had to forcefully shut the game down, I ended up taking all of the package files out of the game but the problem was still there so I had to uninstall the whole thing. I did everything you showed and I dont really see anyone else having the same problem :(

Im in the same boat friend🥲 Edit: So Im sorry you had to uninstall your game. I just simply had to remove the package files because they were corrupt but the lot file was intact so this actually all worked for me. Id have to still test it with a lot sims3pack file that has a lot of cc.

When you convert store worlds like you showed you only get the world without the content, so no lot, shells, venues, cc ect. how else can you install worlds via package files without losing everything within in?

Hi Nicole! When I converted a custom world into a package file and put it into my The Sims 3 > GameData > Shared > NonPackaged > Worlds and trying to launch my game (with TS3PatchLauncher) it would just be a black screen with my mouse cursor loading and it did that for about 5 minutes before i just closed the sims through being on borderless mode. I removed it from the worlds folder and it continues to do the same thing, I was just wondering if this have ever came up in a comment or happended to you so if theres a solution please let me know! If not I can just try and repair my game! Thanks!

You need to extract the rar file and then you will see 4 files (changelog, the madscience files and Sims3Dashboard.exe). Double click the Sims3Dashboard.exe file it will open the program. Move that file to like your desktop or something then you will have easy access to it!

Do you still have sims3pack files in your downloads folder or in your launcher? I always recommend following the tutorial with a fresh install of the game for the best results

I did but I deleted everything before I tried to use the game again. The worlds did something similar to what happened to someone else in these comments where the lots and family names got weird. I tried downloading the files from Blams EA that you recommended but the load screen was frozen taking so long I never was able to check if that would have worked. However, I did notice that the information about the towns were blank when I was selecting one. I ended up re-installing the worlds the original way because I thought that would help. The world’s had there information but it didn’t make the game load any faster. I posted on a Facebook group post where I learned of your videos from and it was recommended that I get CC Magic to reduce the number of package files in the mods folder and that helped a lot. I’m going to have to try the worlds again and see if it works. I did see a question on here that I also had about the extra stuff that comes with the worlds. I noticed objects and sims package files related to the worlds in my library folder, do those just stay there. Those objects showed as installed in the launcher after I re-installed the worlds. As long as I keep those package files, will I still have those objects after I remove all the downloads and installed content in the launcher? Should they stay in the folder they are in or do those need to be moved.

The sims 3 dashboard won't open for me to convert the lots. I can open everything else but that. Any ideas? Update: after converting all the downloads to packages my game won't load anymore 😫

The issue is related to only one of the items in the simpack not processing correctly, so a fix demands you isolate and remove the item. However this may be fixed as a whole when EA creates a functional platform[Origen or EA] connecting it to the Sims launcher. The error has also been reported on their end, so it may not be correlated with a single item having rendered incorrectly during the conversion process.

What did you convert? Because if it’s a lot then you need to use sims3dashboard to scan the files to see which one is the lot file. Put the lot file in your library folder and the other files in your mods folder

I found converting worlds like this doesn’t work for me. A bunch of rabbit hole lots were missing in those worlds, lot names and sim names were messed up, and saves in those worlds wouldn’t show up in the menu

Ohh that’s weird it always works for me. Were you converting worlds from the sims 3 store? Then you can download the languague files and rabbitholes from blamseastore on tumblr! The language file fixes the lot and sim names
