I did my 75 C10 put a 1985 booster and proportion valve easy on GM than Old school Plymouth Duster.

And the proportion valves are different from disc brake power to manual at least it was In mine. Hmmm! Go Buy the proportion value if you're wanting rear Brakes! :)

Maybe if he ordered some drop spindles and some new front Springs his truck might actually steer correctly and not be dangerous.

I had an ‘81 k10 suburban and a ‘86 k20 suburban….the k20 was a turd but the k10 had a black goodwrench 290hp replacement motor and that thing ran like hell….till it got stolen …..then i went thru a couple ‘67/‘72s and now im back to a ‘73 swb fleet with a supercharged LS swap, so adding power brakes is a must now….especailly since my wife went for a ride….she said its dangerous….😂😂😂😂 honey thas my middle name

Did you reset a proportioning valve if you don't you wont have brakes to the front or the rear depending on which way the switch moves to block off the line that has differential pressure between the front and the rear shutting off the line to to maintain brakes if there was a leak in either the front or rear
@MortskeRepair3 жыл бұрын
How do you "reset" a proportioning valve? Never have had that issue before. He had a bad master cylinder. New one fixed it.

@@MortskeRepair Test Combination/Proportioning Valve Use a test light by attaching a clip to a positive contact on the vehicle and touch the point of the tester to the electrical connection of the combination valve. If the the light does not come on, the valve system is operating correctly and no further testing is required. If the light does come on, this indicates that the pressure differential valve is stuck in the front or rear position front or rear position . Bleed the brake system to determine if the front or rear lines are blocked off. Set up one front wheel and one rear wheel for bleeding at the same time. Crack both bleeder screws and gently pump the pedal a few times. The blocked side will trickle fluid out when the bleeder screw is cracked and the pedal pressed. An unblocked line will squirt fluid out the bleeder. The lines that are clear must be left open and the blocked lines should have the bleeder screws tight to cause pressure to build up on that side. Be sure to use the standard bleeding procedures to prevent air from entering the system. Slowly press the pedal with steady pressure a number of times until the light goes out; this will center the differential valve. You may also hear a pop come from the proportioning valve. This is the metering valve returning to its equalized position. When the light goes out, close the bleeder screw.

Why didn’t it have factory power brakes had a 77 with power brakes
@MortskeRepair4 жыл бұрын
This pickup was a bare bones model. It had factory power steering but no power brakes. No air conditioning, no tilt, no cruise control, no carpet, no dual tanks, no automatic transmission. I'm not sure when power brakes became standard. I believe every OBS style (88-98) fullsize that I've seen has power brakes. But a lot of the S10s still had manual brakes in the 90s even. Just a cost savings thing people did. They work fine, just take a little more effort.
