wrong, easiest way to rwd a subaru the easy is disassemble the centre diff and remove the spiders etc and only weld rear seciton and weld the front back onto centre diff. then the front halfshafts can stay in the car making it look like its still awd

I just picked up a 93 Loyale with the 4WD button. Do you know if I need to weld the center diff after deleting the front axles? Or can I just click it into 4WD with a welded rear and call it good?

+Sahil K same thing as welding any other RWD diff. Most rear diffs are open unless you have an s model or wrx or something like that, then it'll be an LSD

you can, but you;ll burn up the viscous coupler. Subarus generally want to send power to the wheel with least traction, so if you just rip the front axles out, you'll just be spinning the front differential without any real power going to the back end
