I've been eating both the sulphureus and cincinnatus for twenty years. It does not taste like chicken! It has the texture of chicken, but the flavor is a very mild mushroom flavor with no chicken accents, whatsoever. It does take on whatever flavors it is cooked in. You have to trick yourself to believe there's any actual chicken flavor by itself

@@ScottWConvid19 Yeah i thought the taste was more like crab or lobster but i haven’t eaten any meat in 4 years so I don’t remember lol, i prefer chanterelles over chicken of the woods but it’s still great!

Just found one big piece on a chestnut tree trunk last weekend! We stir fried it with garlic, pepper, paprika, salt and onions. It was amazing! Also interesting to see that contrary to most mushrooms it barely shrinks when cooked.

@@MathieuGoldstein That’s awesome! Thank you for sharing your experience with it, that’s true it doesn’t shrink!

Spore n' Sprout, when will you help us put out a guide on how to grow Chicken of the Woods Mushroom at home? We would appreciate it. 🙏🏻

@@leonardovidal6305 I’m working on a video but it’s going to take a lot longer to finish the experiment and video. In the meantime you can use all of my techniques to clone and run your own experiments.

How does the wild one compare to the one's grown that can be ordered from your website? I just about ordered that from you on my last order.
@SporenSprout2 ай бұрын
@@cswamp1 The ones grown artificially are more delicate and and not as robust. It’s still not perfected, i have only cloned and experimented a bit with a couple cultures I have and I grew a nice small fruiting body. My next experiment will be inoculating logs, I believe I will get proper fruiting bodies this way, it will just take longer.
