So, do spores survive where bacteria does not, on Al? So, are you "sterilizing" it by leaving it for a period of time?

❤Hey Spore n’ Sprout!🙋🏾♂️ Great to catch a glance at your family…🙂 You posted a video recently where you were able to regrow/clone a dried mushroom using an agar plate transfer method. It would be interesting to try the same with some of your Lion’s Mane (or other mushrooms) to see if they can also be cultured and regrown after being freeze-dried and vacuum-sealed. Ideally, the protocol could use day-old freeze-dried and vacuum-sealed mushrooms, and then try again at later storage time points, like 6-, 12-, and 18-month samples. You mention “the apocalypse” off-handedly, and this experiment could demonstrate an extended-reserve method for mushroom growing that outlasts grain spawn and does not require electricity (i.e., like refrigeration of liquid culture).👍🏾

What we do in my group is what we call "biopsy/puncture transfer". Puncture a clean spot on the agar with a sterile needle on the end of a syringe with sterile water. Squirt your tiny grain of mycelium onto a secondary plate, grow it out, then do LC. This way you have a super coherent genetic template that gives you TIGHT growth when you inoculate your spawn.
