Thank you! I could not remember how much water to use to cook my farro grain. It turned out to be delicious and crunchy just like I remembered!

Would it be better to cook this in a rice cooker?
@kalahealthandwellness Жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure, but I'm willing to try. If you do it before I put up a video, LMK! (sorry for delayed response, I was camping this weekend)

Now this is interesting because the organic farro that I get locally says to simmer it for 10 minutes and drain, then rest for 10 minutes. I wonder why.

That's great Monty! What kind of conditions do emmer wheat love to thrive in?
@montysandor83622 жыл бұрын
@@kalahealthandwellness emmer is a very adaptive wheat that will grow where other grains will not. in sandy hilly soil or salty soil. it takes longer to grow so frost can be an issue but it naturally fights off many disease that newer wheats can not. i grow a spring emmer but there is also a winter emmer that can be fall seeded though canada is way to cold to grow winter emmer. i just boiled some emmer last night again after watching your video. i still have about 7 tonnes left so i will not starve any time soon. ty

Good to know. I didn't use Bob's Red Mill. I cooked the farro found at Sprouts bulk isle. Do you have any idea what kind of farro that would be? Thanks in advance!
