I am Italian and I love cooking, my boyfriend is Nigerian, he appreciates my cuisine and my food but sometimes he misses the Nigerian food, so I bought all the ingredients and I made him jollof rice with this recipe, turned out amazing, he even brought to work and was very proud of me🥰 Thank you for sharing this recipe, I will definitely make it again.

I tried making jollof rice using your instructions. I almost got it right. I seasoned it correctly. I slightly burned it because I had the temperature on too high in the beginning. My boyfriend used to work at a restaurant in Lagos. We went to eat at a Nigerian restaurant here in Chicago. We had chicken, jollof rice, and plantains. They gave us way too much food to eat. The custom is to take the food home in a to go container.. He said he did not want to take home his leftovers because he cooks better. He came over to my place to make a small pot of jollof rice. His rice did taste better than the restaurant's. I mastered chicken and plantains already. I am Mexican-American. I know how to make traditional Mexican food. Our rice is similar except yours has more spices. I appreciate your cooking tutorial. I really need to keep practicing.

I myself is also Mexican with a Nigerian husband ❤ I learned all my Nigerian dishes from her and also used her recipes when we were in Nigeria when cooking for his family. The were very much surprised and shocked as well the absolutely loved the food. I only use joyful recipes for they are the absolute best ❤

I am African and LOVE Mexican food because here in Texas it’s everywhere. It’s funny that I have made both but I still prefer Mexican rice. Yes it’s simpler but I just like the taste also. I make it as a one pot meal with chicken thighs that I brown first before frying the washed rice in that same pan and adding my tomato mixture (I use ground annato as a main spice and other spices too) I bake the whole thing and it comes out perfect, the baking is a fool proof way to ensure even cooking with either Mexican or Jollof. I serve my baked Mexican rice with pinto beans, tortillas, fajitas, chips and homemade guacamole! 🤤🤤 so delicious

Amazing Recipe! I watched this video over and over for some time now and finally decided to make it last night. It did not disappoint at all. I am Haitian and my family looked at the "Red Rice" like I was crazy lol! Only if they knew and were open to trying new things. Currently looking for dishes to enjoy and add into my routine. By the way, I have eaten Jollof rice before but this was my first time making it myself. You really made it easy to follow. Thanks!

Had the pleasure of trying Jollof rice at a restaurant near me and it was so freaking delicious. I had seen it before in my random KZbin food bloggers videos so wanted to try it. It does not disappoint. The dish is a bit expensive where I got it so I had to try to make it. I decided on this video as it was a smaller quantity than the usual party size. And let me just say I don’t know if it really only is made for parties but it’s way too good to not be eaten all the time! So I followed this recipe exactly, first time with jasmine rice because that’s all I had (I should mention that rice absolutely defeats me if I’m not using a rice cooker. I’m really bad at rice) it was over cooked but I ate it all. For breakfast lunch and dinner. There’s an African grocer near me so I went and got parboiled rice and it made all the difference! The rice came out PERFECT! It’s worth it to get it. Couldn’t find scotch bonnets so had to use habaneros but I’m on the hunt for scotch bonnets now. They’re hard to find in my area. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! My friend raved about it as well!

Let me tellllll youuuu. This recipe is perfect. I made this today and it "shell dung di place" (it was a hit). So, I didn't have the Maggie cube (for some reason I don't buy it) but I improvised by using the soup packet (we use it in soup ) and use a sift to separate the noodles from the seasoning - worked perfectly. I also grated fresh nutmeg (only type I have). I didn't make the chicken so had no stock, but lucky me I had a few boxes in store. The flavors of are unbelievable, I had to restrain myself from eating the portion set aside. Thank you so much for sharing.

My friend who’s had it before said It’s right on the dot! It was so so good. Thank you for sharing! I noticed in this recipe it has nutmeg and your larger portion jollof recipes have white pepper- any particular reason why? I’m thinking about throwing in the white pepper next time maybe? Again thank you! Love your videos :)
