Dear Gita, greetings from Australia! Thank you so much for these 3 methods of cooking rice. I've stopped using my rice cooker (lazy!) n now cook on the stove-top. We eat basmati rice and I use the first digit of my middle finger, above the rice, to guage the quantity of water required. This method works well. Dear Gita, I have a couple of pressure cookers but they don't "whistle" like the Indian ones so I've gone out to my favourite Indian Gourmet store n bought one that whistles, 4.1lt capacity. It's going to be wonderful for my Indian cooking and I'm excited! I would like to cook dhal n rice in this whistling pressure cooker (Prestige) n haven't a clue...is it possible to cook a small quantity of both without blowing up the jolly thing? HELP please🤔 Gratefully, Gill
@GitasKitchen5 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Gill. Please remember that basmati rice takes much less water. A proportion of 1: 11/2 would be fine. Generally I use Sona Masoori rice at home, which takes 1:3 waters please adjust accordingly
