Same here, I just got the Wu Fu Yuan brand that everyone seems to recommend and they were chewy and well cooked but had no flavor and were even a little bitter, even if I soaked them in honey :( Next time I will definitely cook them with brown sugar and see if that improves the flavor.

So if you open a bag and only use half or less of the boba pearls, make sure to store the boba pearls in an airtight container so they don't absorb the moisture and go bad

Hi, When I am doing trial and error and RnD stage of recipe making I have a tendency of cooking way too much of pearls that I supposedly needed, I can only drink 2 glass max in a day (and I dont drink milk tea everyday) for taste testing but I always end up with excess pearls. What do you think is the perfect cup measurement if you want to cook just enough?

I tried cooking my boba pears. Everything went well at first, but after turning off the heat and letting the boba rest in the pot for a while, I came to see that all the boba pearls had sunk to the bottom of the pot and they were sluggish and they were sticking together.... Tapioca pearls do not hold their texture for long. If you would like to maintain the texture, keep them warm. :-). Selecting a better brand helps. Some brands are better than others. Good luck!

Would mean a lot if someone answers my question. So I have the tapioca pearls packet sitting in the cupboard for 3 months now (I'm too lazy), it has not expired but today i noticed that somehow the packet has become airy and i saw some wet droplets at the bottom although the packet is still closed. Hi po! How long will the brown sugar tapioca pearls last? After 4-5 hours of cooking them (stayed in hot water bath) the pearls have gone hard. I would like to know if they need to stay in the heat to make them chewy and soft for a long time? Thank you!

Tapioca pearls should only be used within the day it was made. They do not retain their texture well. Soak in room temperature water is better unless you want to keep them heated at all times on low heat. Good luck!

Hi Maya! The reason why we rinse the pearls with cold water is para hindi na sya maluto pa lalo sa sariling init and lumamig sya. If you put the brown sugar directly that should work too - to dissolve the sugar. :-)

Hello. Mango tapioca pearls! Sounds brilliant! I would not think it would be soft and chewy in the chiller. These are made of tapioca! Try the grass jelly. It stays chunky and chewy for days in the fridge. :-)

Honestly? I think you should throw them away if you have any leftover at the end of the day. Otherwise, keep them in room temperature. These don't last. Make just enough for the day. That is the honest truth :-)

Because, once i tried to cook too much in a day (for family purpose), then the following day i still have more cooked tapioca....but it dried up already, and then i boil a brown sugar and pour it to the cooked tapioca, then it's back to normal (not sticking to each other) because masabaw na po xa ulit.... 😅 😅 😅...one thing i notice po, is when you pour a hot liquid to the pearl, it will cooked the ALREADY cooked tapioca....🤔🤔🤔......so i was thinking maybe next time i just dissolved brown sugar in tap water(not boil it) then pour it on the cooked tapioca so it will not cooked it more....🤔🤔🤔.... Nag try po ako mag luto and pag nilagay na po sya sa milktea na malamig, after a few minutes medyo tumitigas po ang gitna, is it okay na ilagay ko na lang po sya sa separate na lagayan for pearls only hindi po ba sya titigas habang dinedeliver?

Not sure why unless you are using a poor quality tapioca. If you follow the cooking procedure you should not have a problem really. Maybe the pearls are not yet cooked completely?
