Same here, I just got the Wu Fu Yuan brand that everyone seems to recommend and they were chewy and well cooked but had no flavor and were even a little bitter, even if I soaked them in honey :( Next time I will definitely cook them with brown sugar and see if that improves the flavor.

Hi, When I am doing trial and error and RnD stage of recipe making I have a tendency of cooking way too much of pearls that I supposedly needed, I can only drink 2 glass max in a day (and I dont drink milk tea everyday) for taste testing but I always end up with excess pearls. What do you think is the perfect cup measurement if you want to cook just enough?

Maybe it has gone too soft? Or the brand that you are using is simply not good. Good luck!

Pearl good for a day po. Pag kinabukasan na titigas na po sya hindi na din ganon kasarap. Kaya po I suggest dapat 1hr before mag open yung shop mo saka ka magluto ng pearls.

Hello, I used a local muscovado sugar. You may also use regular brown sugar if you have a separate brown sugar syrup :-). All the best !
