You need to stir the rice after it’s done in the cooker in a way that won’t crush the grain. It’s a knowledge problem, not a cooker problem.

A lot of white rice in US are 1 cup rice 2 cups water. Also if you have a very tight fitting lid with no vent it will be less messy to put lid like how she did or stick a toothpick in between lid. When lid is tight the pressure will build inside and it’ll splatter onto stovetop if not vented. Hope this helps as well.

Is it bad to eat rice without washing it? Like what does the starch do? Diabetes?
@thegkey17952 жыл бұрын
No, starch isnt bad for you necessarily. Starch is naturally present in many foods, such as potatoes, grains, breads, and most vegetables. All a starch is is many sugar type molecules bound into a long chain that becomes a starch, and at that point it gets metabolized by the body differently (it no longer acts as a sugar, and wont give you diabetes). This is usually done by plants simply to store sugars more effectively. The purpose of rinsing excess starch is to improve the mouth feel and texture of the rice- when starch dissolves in water and is cooked, it takes on a gummy, thick texture. Having too much starch, especially on the exterior of the rice, will cause it to be sticky and mushy.
