I sauteed some mushroom, onion and garlic first. Removed that from pan and sauteed the zoodles. Added the veggies back to the pan with the cooked zoodles and added 2 heaping tablespoons of diced tomatoes. Sautee all together for another minute. Delicious!

I mix these in with regular spaghetti. 2/3 zoodles, 1/3 regular spaghetti. Put on the sauce and any toppings as you normally would. You've just cut 2/3 of the calories out of the dish and you really won't miss the extra pasta. You get a nice big plate of food, bumped up the nutrition and lowered the calories! Easiest way to cook is to add them in with the spaghetti for the last 2 minutes of cooking.

I've been making zoodles with my veggeti since it came out! :) I use zoodles in pho instead of rice noodles, with a cottage cheese sauce as an alfredo, with homemade marinara sauce as spaghetti, just fried up with garlic and pepper and sometimes just steamed with mrs dash salt free seasonings! Zoodles are great!

2:40 I keep seeing people add salt while cooking these zoodles. I find when I add salt to riced cauliflower it turns to mush while cooking, yet if I add it after, it's nice and dry and fluffy cauliflower rice. I am going to try cooking these but haven't found a video which mentionsnot to add salt until after it is cooked. I wanna try cooking it outside on my 150K BTU propane burner in wok compared to 10K BTU burner inside.. seems like it would be even more dry and better fried. Add salt after.

I Love using zucchini in place of pasta. I use a julienne shredder (like a carrot peeler), and put hot sauce over this. Then I let it sit for a few minutes and voila! The zucchini is cooked perfect and I don't miss the pasta.
@BobRooney2904 жыл бұрын
they will never replace pasta. that being said, they do help in cutting your pasta portion. i go halfsies on zoodles and pasta, which in turn cuts the calories in half. i used to just cube zucchini in my red sauce, but this is better.
@judidunham50376 жыл бұрын
Guess I have to practice more! My one zucchini left me with one heaping tablespoon of cooked zoodles. There was plenty enough while raw, but zoodles cooked way down like spinach does. Ended up with a slimy tablespoon of zucchini. 😢 I did them in a frying pan with LESS oil than you used. Not sure what went wrong. Going to try microwaving next time and maybe squeezing out the excess water. Any thoughts???
@jamesdonohue75138 жыл бұрын
I salted them before cooking and used paper towels to dry them before cooking, I cooked them the same way except I added 1/4 cup of water, they came out pretty good, the only thing is that zucchinis are pretty slimy and overcooking them makes the texture a little less than desired. Still good with basil pesto though.
@CleanandDeliciousDani8 жыл бұрын

I picked up a veggetti spiralizer after watching this video. My favorite way is to serve zoodles with light Alfredo sauce and baked chicken. I do my weekly meal prep with raw zoodles covered in sauce, then when I want to eat my meal, I only need to microwave everything for 2 minutes and it's all perfectly cook. Remember to use less sauce than you think you would need when meal prepping, because zoodles release some water and thin out the sauce: you don't want zoodle soup, jut zoodle sauce. Also I love using yellow squash, the yellow color really makes it taste like pasta lol.
