I sauteed some mushroom, onion and garlic first. Removed that from pan and sauteed the zoodles. Added the veggies back to the pan with the cooked zoodles and added 2 heaping tablespoons of diced tomatoes. Sautee all together for another minute. Delicious!

I mix these in with regular spaghetti. 2/3 zoodles, 1/3 regular spaghetti. Put on the sauce and any toppings as you normally would. You've just cut 2/3 of the calories out of the dish and you really won't miss the extra pasta. You get a nice big plate of food, bumped up the nutrition and lowered the calories! Easiest way to cook is to add them in with the spaghetti for the last 2 minutes of cooking.

I've been making zoodles with my veggeti since it came out! :) I use zoodles in pho instead of rice noodles, with a cottage cheese sauce as an alfredo, with homemade marinara sauce as spaghetti, just fried up with garlic and pepper and sometimes just steamed with mrs dash salt free seasonings! Zoodles are great!

I love zoodles. My favorite is to mix the raw veggie with a dressing made of olive oil, sesame seeds, garlic and ginger. Also use a bit of raw carrot run through the noodle maker. It's delicious, satisfying, and a very good quick meal.

I want to see my husband's face when I substitute the spaghetti with the zoodles. Just made sauce and meatballs yesterday, so these will be a quick prepare tonight. Another one bites the dust, here at Zucchini Nation. Thanks so much for your prep/ cooking tips.

We cooked them in the pan with avocado oil, but I guess that part doesn't matter, as any healthier oil should do, and we put lean ground chicken with Classico pasta sauce on top, and sprinkled parmesan cheese. It was so good! Gonna try the microwave method next time. I need to buy more zucchinis now! 🙂

2:40 I keep seeing people add salt while cooking these zoodles. I find when I add salt to riced cauliflower it turns to mush while cooking, yet if I add it after, it's nice and dry and fluffy cauliflower rice. I am going to try cooking these but haven't found a video which mentionsnot to add salt until after it is cooked. I wanna try cooking it outside on my 150K BTU propane burner in wok compared to 10K BTU burner inside.. seems like it would be even more dry and better fried. Add salt after.

Thank you for sharing this VIDEO; although very FUNNY with some of the things you were saying like, "if the Zucchini is too big it won't fit inside the [Vaggetti]", it was very helpful. I was wondering if the "Zoodles" had to be cooked, but I read a previous comment below and I think some people also like it in its raw form. I really like how compact, portable and easy it is to use the Veggetti. I just got the Veggetti PRO and I can't wait to try it out on Zucchini and other vegetables. Now I just have to find the three "Zoodle" recipes in one VIDEO you made. Do you remember the title?

they will never replace pasta. that being said, they do help in cutting your pasta portion. i go halfsies on zoodles and pasta, which in turn cuts the calories in half. i used to just cube zucchini in my red sauce, but this is better.

Guess I have to practice more! My one zucchini left me with one heaping tablespoon of cooked zoodles. There was plenty enough while raw, but zoodles cooked way down like spinach does. Ended up with a slimy tablespoon of zucchini. 😢 I did them in a frying pan with LESS oil than you used. Not sure what went wrong. Going to try microwaving next time and maybe squeezing out the excess water. Any thoughts???

I salted them before cooking and used paper towels to dry them before cooking, I cooked them the same way except I added 1/4 cup of water, they came out pretty good, the only thing is that zucchinis are pretty slimy and overcooking them makes the texture a little less than desired. Still good with basil pesto though.

Thanks for brill video. That gadget looks good but is it hard to use with carrots tho? As they're much harder?

When I make a batch of sauce, I would end up eating meals of pasta for several days which always left me feeling heavy. Eating the sauce with zoodles is just as yummy and SO much lighter!

I've never cook them. I eat them raw. Raw pad thai with a peanut sauce ft. dulce... or raw red pepper sauce.

I picked up a veggetti spiralizer after watching this video. My favorite way is to serve zoodles with light Alfredo sauce and baked chicken. I do my weekly meal prep with raw zoodles covered in sauce, then when I want to eat my meal, I only need to microwave everything for 2 minutes and it's all perfectly cook. Remember to use less sauce than you think you would need when meal prepping, because zoodles release some water and thin out the sauce: you don't want zoodle soup, jut zoodle sauce. Also I love using yellow squash, the yellow color really makes it taste like pasta lol.

I made some today for lunch. We put canned spaghetti sauce over the zoodles. Turned out very good.

Great Video! I love them raw with "coodels" (made of carrots) ;-) and a nice cashew-nut, soy sauce, lime dressing !! Looking forward to more ideas!

Other than using less olive oil when cooking them, is there another way to minimize the excess water from the zoodles? I always get super watery zoodles even when using less oil!

If you had to pick between the zucchini noodle or using spaghetti squash as the "pasta" which would you pick for taste?

Steph Mitch EEEK! Thats such a tough question -- I love them both but they are very different. While neither of them are exactly the sam was pasta (obviously) I may have to go with the zoodle. BUT truly - I love them both and its a hard choice.

I just like saying the word. Zoodles. :) I made some then put some turkey sausage and tomato sauce on top. Kissed it with the parmesan italian blend. Yumminess! It was still a bit crispy. Did I not leave it alone to cook long enough or will they always have a crunch to them?
@CleanandDeliciousDani
@CleanandDeliciousDani 8 жыл бұрын
+Laurel Morrell Yes, try cooking them longer if you prefer a softer zoodle :)

I must say, “vagetti” is a really bizarre naming choice for this brand of spiralizer. At least you won’t forget it when you go to buy one!
