This is amazing work -- it's nice to know that there are still craftsmen around who put a little bit of themselves into everything they make: something missing in today's world. Thanks, Hellhound!

Perfect timing I just ordered your cattleman template!

Hey Jim, that IS perfect timing! The video glides over stuff pretty quick (in this day and age its hard to hold anyone's attention for too long) but if you have any questions along the way, don't hesitate to reach out! I'll put out a video on how to convert a pattern to "cross draw" soon too!

Excellent work as always Hellhound! I'm jealous of that sewing machine! Still doing all of my stitching by hand. I need to order one of those acrylic templates!
@HellhoundLeatherCo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much Marc! Yeah, the sewing machines are a game changer. I can only imagine what my waiting list would be if I didn't have them. That being said, there is a depth and meaningfulness to hand-stitched work that you lose on the "upgrade". So hats off to you for your skill and patience!

Truly a fantastic job, great professionalism and work. Very accurate, professionalism is really great! I was very impressed with the work I would love to have her do a job for me...but I'm a long way away in Italy...I would like a belt and holster just like that...for a 1873 Cattleman Uberti pistol with a 5 1/2 barrel in 357 magnums that I own...It's just a dream...but congratulations again!

Actually, we ship internationally all the time (just today we shipped two slings to Australia and one lever wrap kit to Finalnd) so if you're interested I would be happy to craft a rig for your Uberti Cattleman. If you would like, just email me and we can discuss the details of what you'd like crafted: gavin@hellhoundleatherco.com Thank you for the kind words!

Do you really ship outside the USA? This could be good news for me...maybe I write you an email to know some more details. My only fear is that words cannot explain well what I wish to have from his expert hands! Anyway, I'll try and I'll write to you. Thanks for the offer I really appreciate it!

@@luca6587 We really do ship internationally, and often. We have many cowboy enthusiasts across the seas. As far as explaining what you're looking for, pictures always help. So if you can find pictures of things/designs/styles online to help show what you have in mind, I'm sure we can create what you want. Looking forward to your email. Thanks!

Love these videos, seems like you pick up something new each time. Topic of your tools of the trade question - What is the glue bottle you are using? It looks like glass and maybe a replaceable brush. I haven't had any luck finding something like it yet. It has become obvious the small containers don't have the capacity to do holster liners and cans aren't easy to use either.

Thank you! We love these glue bottles - so its a great question. I started out, years ago, with the "glue pot" that you can pick up at Weaver or Tandy and I didn't craft enough (still just a hobby) and my glue would dry out before I could use it all. I've since moved back to the larger glue pot, but the glass bottles are a really great middle ground. And you're right, the little containers really don't hold enough and the big cans are a disaster to use. We originally got our glass glue bottles from Maker Supply, but they've been out of stock for a long time now. Rocky Mountain has something very similar in stock - the lid is plastic instead of metal, but the brush is replaceable which is great. You can find them here: www.rmleathersupply.com/products/glue-pot-container-with-brush?variant=44101961027 Sometimes I will see the same style of bottle on Amazon, but thats a little hit-and-miss. We're thinking of distributing soon and if we do we'll definitely be carrying these bottles. Good luck! Hope the bottle helps!

@@HellhoundLeatherCo I did find the Rocky Mountain supply and put an 8oz on order. Really looking forward to seeing what you put on your list for distributing - the tools and items you use would be a great. Gives us new crafters a starting point like the knives and punches.

This might be a dumb question but when it says right hand up, if I flip it around will that make a left handed holster?

What's the weight equivalent to 3/16-1/4"? Also I'm checking out veg hide on Amazon because it's convenient and has every other material Im in need of. Should I trust the samples I'm finding on their? So far it looks like what I need. But I'm also considered going to my local leather shop to support them. I'm starting as a hobby building hybrid holsters for myself and family. So it doesn't need folded. I'm using it for the backing surface. I'm considering going all out by using thinner leather to bind to the Kydex I'm using. Thanks in advanced.

Is that pattern for 5.5” ?
@HellhoundLeatherCo Жыл бұрын
Yup, that's what we typically sell and that's what is on the website. That being said, if you need a different barrel length its pretty easy to adjust on paper and if folks start asking for different barrel lengths we're happy to start providing.

Where do you get your templates
@HellhoundLeatherCo Жыл бұрын
I actually designed and produced all of the templates we use in our shop. We sell them on our website: hellhoundleatherco.com/collections/patterns The collection is growing all the time and I hope to eventually add all the patterns I have made over the years.
