How to create a Botable USB Flash Drive (Rufus + Windows XP)

With the help of a small program (Rufus), and a bootable ISO file (Windows XP in this case), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (or USB stick). This flash drive can be used to start the computer and install a new copy of Windows from the USB drive instead of a CD or DVD disc.
- Set your PC's BIOS to boot from USB.
- Not all BIOS-es allow booting from USB.

+Gasolina A This will generate the desired Windows ISO file ► www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Try to enable in BIOS everything that is USB related. If booting from USB is still not available, than your PC probably in not able to boot from USB. +Gasolina A You need a bootable ISO file, I used a Windows XP ISO file, try to use a Windows 10 ISO because is free to download. If the PC does not boot from USB (when the bootable flash drive is plugged in) than you have to enter BIOS and set the USB as first boot device. (usually the Delete key is used for entering BIOS)

The screen is always black?? Is the cursor visible? Download it using another PC/laptop and than transfer the file to the damaged machine and try to run the file.

If you have to restore your computer with this will all your files like your nividia drivers come back? And also if not can you download all the drivers again?

***** Common video drivers like nVidia can be downloaded again, but if you have some less common or less recent drivers also than it is highly recommended to back up those drivers first and only than to install a new Windows. If you install a completely new Windows (Not upgrade!) and at installation you select to format the C drive, than all your files will be gone from the C drive. First move your personal files to another partition (like D: or E:).

Yes, theoretically it should work with a SD card also, at least it works on my PC...
