Hi Mike, Cpl questions for you :) . 1) Noticing in the video that you are using Quixel Suite (Which i have also) why did you make the choice to not use Ddo for the actual texture. 2) What is the difference between "Paste embedded" versus say have that image open and "copying and pasting" method. 3) Lastly, I am not sure if you are familiar with Daz Studio or not. However, Daz also uses the .jpg format which i was surprised you used for Ue4 since most use the .tga, dds or other. My issues are in the .jpg format when Rendering, they get all pixelated. the best example of this would be where you added the warning images. if i do the same thing, when i render in Daz the pixelation would be where that warning meets the metal. It actually bleeds there. I hope i explained that well enough. thanks for any input you may have as to fix the bleed issue.

I think I can help with the pixelated images you're getting, .jpeg compresses the image to make the file size smaller and thus you lose resolution. The solution is to render or export the images as a .png file. Hope that helps. Cheers

Thanks for the reply SAC, yeah i tried the .png also and no go on that also still bleeds. my solution and i was really not happy with how i had to do it but it did work was to break my uv shell and then almost triple the size of the that uv space to get it to render correctly. Maybe you can answer another question for me also if you are familiar with Ddo i am not sure. Ddo exports 72 dpi images and i would like 300 dpi images which may help my issue "not sure". How do i tell Ddo to do that?

Michael, I see that you are already getting some feedback here. I like to use the place embedded as I fing it easier to move stuff around ( personal preference I guess ) As for the JPG's, to be 100% honest I wasn't thinking about the game engine when I was saving them out and didn't want to go back during the tutorial to fix it as I know it works

Thanks for the response. I was not sure if by using the embed feature that it helped the colors from bleeding or not as this is a major issue i am having.

Thoughts on Maya 2017? I personally really like the motion graphics and new animation tools. Also I think it´s a good choice to make Arnold the standard renderer now.

I am going to hold off on that for a while as 98% of my subscribers doesn't have it. I will make the switch as some point though.

Not sure. They postponed it first and now it seems there are just a few upgrades, mainly in the animation section

It's out now, I've been playing around checking out the new features, biggest thing is the Arnold renderer which was a much needed upgrade from the mental ray renderer.

First off. Amazing video. But could you not have used a bump or displacement map?? just asking if it would hurt something in any ways

A normal map is the newer ( and better ) version of a bump map

Another nice video! Do you know any free programs that can do most of photoshop's functions? And except for UI are there any differences between maya and 3ds max?

+Mike Hermes One more question, how would I export an inventor model to maya or vice versa? I tried to make the inventor file into a step file but it still doesn't work and maya only has two types of files Binary and ASCII. Thanks for your help!

Hi Mike, I think it's safe to say you should use real polygon bumps when you could, right? From the sides, the panel still looks flat...
