Sure you can but you need to be very careful that your VM is fully isolated. Many hypervisors not installed on bare metal (i.e., VMware Workstation, VirtualBox, etc.) will have features allowing you to share various things with your host system, which should be turned off if that's what you are doing. Also, remember that some malware is designed to spread, so you need to protect any other system on the same network.

Given that you're the first person to mention that, I think it's safe to say that even with the publication of this video, most people are running modern hardware that supports the Windows 11 requirements. Unfortunately, I cannot troubleshoot/predict every possible issue that might arise as I only have so much hardware to test. I spoke to soon and figured it out: Power on the VM and immediately press ESC or F2 (depending on VMware's version) to access the VM's BIOS/UEFI settings. In the BIOS/UEFI menu: Navigate to Boot or Boot Order settings. Ensure the CD/DVD Drive (your ISO) is set as the first boot option. Save and exit (usually by pressing F10). OR If network boot isn’t needed, you can disable it in the BIOS/UEFI settings Go to the Boot Options menu. Disable Network Boot or move it to the bottom of the boot order list.

Two of the most common problems that can cause this are: -You haven't given the VM enough resources based on Microsoft's recommend system specifications -You haven't properly setup your host system for virtualization in the BIOS (especially common if you have never ran virtual machines before)

It gorced me to makr a 8 character password. Enabled secure boot. Yhe rest i clocked next. I see it selected 2 processors 1 core by default but that can be changed. Duribg install of the 23H2 iy forces Microsoft account, so you have to edit the specs, so go to "Edit virtual machine strings" anf disable "connect at power on" yhen you can install, buy if you already were at the ibstall you have to testart the virtual machine. Go through the ibstall process. When you are at the log in screen. Prrdd Shift +F10 this will how the command prompt. Type: OOBE\BYPASSNRO And conyinue with the install.

RAM is not used for storage like you are referencing and you cannot allocate all your RAM to a VM as your host operating system still must have resources to operate.

Is it fairly easy to create additional virtual machines? Can you just clone the current one? Additional question, does it matter WHERE you install the Virtual Machine? At 1:48 you show C:\wherever which I assume was added to give your drive some privacy, but wondering where you would typically want to put it.

Some virtualization allows cloning/copying but you'd need to remember to change things like the IP address, hostname, etc. You can store virtual machines wherever you want and that's why it says "wherever." In an ideal world, you'll store them on a fast local drive like an SSD so performance doesn't suffer.

They don't have their BIOS on their host system (i.e., your main computer) configured correctly to allow virtualization. 2. They didn't give the VM at least the minimum required specifications per the vendor for things like storage/memory/etc. 3. They didn't follow instructions as they were provided, which certainly does happen and might lead to different results.

The majority of the time when it doesn't work or people don't get the same results it's because: 1. They didn't provide at least the minimum recommend system requirements of the operating system (see the vendor) 2. They didn't follow the instructions as provided using the same settings/operating systems/etc. Simply saying "it doesn't work" isn't going to get you any type of solution because you haven't given any information that could be remotely helpful in troubleshooting the issue. What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
