You should have included an explanation of the LabConfig/BypassTPMCheck registry key as well. That's what allowed me to do an installation from scratch on VMWare 16.

Given that you're the first person to mention that, I think it's safe to say that even with the publication of this video, most people are running modern hardware that supports the Windows 11 requirements. Unfortunately, I cannot troubleshoot/predict every possible issue that might arise as I only have so much hardware to test. I highly recommend that you contact Microsoft directly if you are going to be licensing it to other people or companies. The last thing that you want to do is run into legal trouble doing something like that.

If you are following this video exactly, then you are only using a trial license, not a "real" license, so it will eventually expire. If you are putting something else for the license, then you need to make sure you are using a valid license.

Seems to me there is a way to create a "system image" of an existing win11 install that can then be uploaded to a VMware VM on Linux Mint, but I cannot find the process anywhere, can you please help?

You need to know both Windows and Linux in any tech career field, but especially IT and Cybersecurity. One of the main reasons why you use virtual machines is so that you can test things without breaking your main operating system install.

It gorced me to makr a 8 character password. Enabled secure boot. Yhe rest i clocked next. I see it selected 2 processors 1 core by default but that can be changed. Duribg install of the 23H2 iy forces Microsoft account, so you have to edit the specs, so go to "Edit virtual machine strings" anf disable "connect at power on" yhen you can install, buy if you already were at the ibstall you have to testart the virtual machine. Go through the ibstall process. When you are at the log in screen. Prrdd Shift +F10 this will how the command prompt. Type: OOBE\BYPASSNRO And conyinue with the install.

If you download the ISO directly from Microsoft as done in this video then you will have an ISO file, not a RAR file. If you are getting a RAR file, I have no idea where you are trying to download Windows 11 from.

Just because your host system has Windows 11 doesn't mean you provide enough resources to the virtual machine. I recommend looking at the Windows 11 system requirements and verifying you are giving it enough resources ( support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11-system-requirements-86c11283-ea52-4782-9efd-7674389a7ba3 ).

Is it fairly easy to create additional virtual machines? Can you just clone the current one? Additional question, does it matter WHERE you install the Virtual Machine? At 1:48 you show C:\wherever which I assume was added to give your drive some privacy, but wondering where you would typically want to put it.

Some virtualization allows cloning/copying but you'd need to remember to change things like the IP address, hostname, etc. You can store virtual machines wherever you want and that's why it says "wherever." In an ideal world, you'll store them on a fast local drive like an SSD so performance doesn't suffer.

It really doesn't matter which hypervisor software that you use because they all work about the same. Hyper-V and Virtual Box are popular free alternatives.

I've never seen that particular error, and it's a little more difficult to troubleshoot if I don't see it. Since a few people have the same issue, I recommend googling the specific error and seeing the results. Also, make sure to let us know if you find a solution!
