So if you have someone in an evergreen funnel, but then run a launch, for example, do you just leave your newsletter automation going and they also get the launch automation at the time you happen to do it. Meaning that they will receive two automations for that period of time?

But what do you do about writing content once they've reached the end of your Evergreen newsletter? You still have to produce regular content for those who aren't in the newsletter right? And let's say you start this and you Evergreen stuff is only stashed to start with new subscribers right? So you're still sending regular emails to current subscribers correct?

HI Max, First off thank you for being to generous with your teaching. I am creating a newsletter template and am wondering if there is a way to tag when clients click on one of two links in the newsletter OR if the tagging has to happen by adding the newsletter to am automation. I understand tags but what I am really trying to do is create essentially create interest segments: i.e. individual versus professional on our lists so that I can create future automations targeted to them. Hey Emily! I've done lots with automations & webinars, but I'm not familiar with webinars on Zoom. With the webinar software I'm using (Demio), the link of the webinar will be stored into a custom field. Then, I'll use their API to lookup the exact the of the (automated) webinar that they're signing up for. After I've got that date & time, I store it into a few custom fields; - Webinar Time - 8:41am - Webinar Day - Friday - Webinar Date - 13th of November - Webinar Timestamp - 2020-11-13T07:41:37+00:00 The timestamp I use inside goals to send reminders, the other fields I use inside the confirmation & reminder emails. A tool you might want to look into is Integromat: www.integromat.com/en/integrations/zoom/?pc=maxvcollenburg With Integromat, you can make these connections without any programming. It's a bit like Zapier, but more affordable & slightly more advanced. I hope that helps you into the right direction!

I do have one question: So if I send my Evergreeen Newsletter every week and I want to kind of pause it - as I launch a Programm or do have important news - that every contact should receive at the same time without being "disturbed" by my evergreen content..do I just Inactive the Automation and activate it again after the launch or would this kick out all the contacts? Hey Joshua! I made the triggers in such a way so that every new contact joins the evergreen newsletter after they've finished onboarding. But there's lot's of different ways to do it. If you want to add an existing list, you could bulk edit all your contacts and add them to your automation 🙃 Hope that helps!

Hey Max! This is incredibly helpful. Quick question. Since posting this video, have you had any issues with the "resend" strategy if some email inboxes are blocking AC from tracking an open or link click? Just wondering if that has happened and makes it harder to use that strategy since you might be doing a resend to that person every time. Thanks! - Zac

Hey Zac! I personally stopped with the resend emails. I think an evergreen newsletter is still awesome, but the resends can cause some issues in case someone blocks the open tracking.

Thanks for sharing the automation template as well! Do you discuss anywhere the content that you include? And do you continue to just add emails to this evergreen automation or after they go through this automation (which is kind of like an on-boarding) do they then switch over to a different automation? And if so, what does that one look like in terms of content etc?

Hey Lindsey! Thanks for the kind words, glad you like it! 😄 Yes, I would just add new emails to this automation to keep it simple. In all of those emails, I would focus on helpful emails that are valuable to the receiver. Little tips, tricks, handy strategies, stories, etc. In my own setup, I first have a 4-5 part onboarding series, then an evergreen newsletter that consists of multiple series of 4 emails about a certain topic, and every 8 weeks I start a "Pitch Handler" that will start some kind of relevant promotion. Hope that gives some ideas! 🙌

Hey Felicitas! Good question! You could add another wait condition that says wait until is "In list X" That way, people won't continue to the next email if they're not in a list. So if they unsubscribe, they won't continue, and when they resubscribe they continue again.
