I'm sure you have found it, but in the intro screen, there is away to say how many colors you want, it defaults to 20 but if you only want two and want to avoid the merge - change that to 2, it will save a ton of time :)

I just wanted to double check something you said at 8:50 you said you “don’t like one row” when you say row do you mean a single square? Like making sure to always have two stitches for a color. Hope that makes sense what I’m asking.
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns Ай бұрын
Yes you’re right. So not necessarily a row but column too. I try to do two stitches for a color.

I wonder if it would be better to apply a black and white filter on your graphic in canva first before exporting it to see if that helps you get a cleaner result faster in stitchfiddle? (To save the step of cancelling out shades of gray etc)
@CozyNooksDesigns

That’s a good idea! Would be worth trying.

For the swatch, if I have 4 colors for my final design. Will it change the size of the swatch if I make it with only one of the colors that I will use? Or should randomly include all of my colors in in the swatch?
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns 7 ай бұрын
Yes, if you plan to carry the yarn across anywhere, you should do the gauge swatch how you plan on doing the pattern. So if you plan on carrying one yarn on either side of a design, do the gauge swatch like that also. ❤️

@@CozyNooksDesigns I’m planning to do the intarsia technique on my color work project. Also, if I understand correctly, you’re suggesting me to recreate my design but in the format of a gauge swatch? Including all the colors. If so, how would you suggest that I do that?
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns 7 ай бұрын
@@r4ch37d4 if you are doing the intarsia crochet techniques (dropping the color when you switch and not picking it back up until the next row), then no, you don’t need to recreate the design for the gauge swatch. If you are planning on carrying a color and crocheting over it, that creates additional height per row, and I would include that in a gauge swatch. 💜

I plan on making a blanket that will have mixed stitches (single and puff). Majority of the blanket will be done using single crochet but, there will be several designs in the blanket using the puff stitch. I am hoping to make the blanket 48 x 36. Do I make a gauge swatch using single crochet or the mixed stitch?
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns 11 ай бұрын
If it were me, I would make a gauge swatch with sc to get the base line of my stitches and rows. This would be the max. I would also test out the added height and/or width a puff stitch adds in a row and account for that by decreasing the starting amount of chains and the planned for rows. 😀

I want to make a blanket that has diagonal stripes with a picture and wording in the middle. I was thinking about doing a c2c but I don’t want my stripes to be blocky. Is there a way to make a graph for working diagonal that won’t make my stripes blocky?
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns 11 ай бұрын
You could always do regular sc or hdc on the bias! That should be non-blocky and would be diagonal.

How do you create a crochet pattern with single crochet and puff stitches with words and designs. I’m trying to make a blanket 76” x 80”. Is this possible?
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns 11 ай бұрын
yes that's possible! Very similar process. Make a gauge swatch with puffs and single crochet and see how many stitches and rows a 5" square makes. Put that in for the gauge, and you should be good to go! ❤

@@CozyNooksDesigns Thank you so much for your help. So I would make a poster with my design in Canvas first, is that correct? Then when I put it in Stitch Fiddle that will transform to my gauge I put in?

I have 226 stitches to make a afghan, I'm wanting to put a graph in the center of it. How do I do the math
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns 6 ай бұрын
Start with a gauge swatch to see how many stitches fit in a 4" square. For example: if there are 17 stitches and 16 rows, your finished piece will be about 63 inches wide. Depending on how big your graph is, you can center it on that. ❤

How would I convert a chart into a hat pattern
@CozyNooksDesigns
@CozyNooksDesigns Жыл бұрын
What I have seen is to have the graph divided in sections to account for the decreases. For example: a graph showing rows 1-5 with a design that fits for that row, etc.

Way too technical for me. Because I can’t figure out how this works with projects worked in the round (ex, beanies or round rugs).
