The people I go to only do acrylic with nail tips. They also do the ombre with gel polish instead of the two different colored acrylic powders. So it takes about 2 hours, maybe 2 and half hours.

Suzie has inspired me to learn how to sculpt beautiful nails. I am now wearing my second set that I've done on myself, and my sister is wearing her first that I did for her. They look great - all due to everything I learned from Suzie!! I started with hybrid gel, and my next step may be Suzie's acrylic starter kit :)

I missed doing nails! Your videos had been such an inspiration for me. I can actually call you as one of my mentors. Lol Side note: my cousin used to have a nail salon and spa however when we were building it, it was terribly difficult to find a nailtech herr in Philippines. So ehat I did, I checked on youtube how to do nails and stuffs so I can try and do the job by helping her while we were looking for a real one and that brought me to a few channels. Mainly, NCE, naionails and celina ryden. Which totally changed my game. I fell inlove with the artistry. And their works have taught me a lot. Shaping, building, even designing. Haha before I learn this I also burned my nails, filed too thin and even had allergic reactions on the products. Don't be afraid because those mistakes will actually teach you how to avoid them.

I was wondering if you could do a detailed video of how to sculpt and file super short sculpted nails.. I'm always having issues with the thickness of short nails and many of my clients like them at a length just a few milimeters past the free edge.. I always refer to your videos with Grant, unfortunately for some reason I'm still having trouble as the edge is so close to the apex. I'm making them too thick and tend to over file having weird shaped nails in the end.. I will say with your help my medium to long nails are almost perfect.. thanks so much you have been helping me for years x

I've tried a few times do do my own nails but I always get lifting at the cuticle after a couple of days what could I be doing wrong?
@nailsofinterest4 жыл бұрын
I'm betting prep...probably some dead skin still on nail plate removing night before then do again right before you do them. I did that night before I went to film,( just an in fill)...i actually missed some cuticle on my nail plate I was floored!! Especially since I thought i buffed it too but was my thumb I could have skipped seeing i was waiting to film it.💜💖💜 I used to have allot of lifting.... found out oily nail beds!! Now it's usually I skipped a step by rushing, or had an injury. I had allot of help making my own cleaner dehydrator too.
@ssc41534 жыл бұрын
Prep work is vital to reduce lifting. Make sure you remove all the dead skin (known as the cuticle), make sure all of the dust is removed, remove the shine by lightly buffing, clean the nail plate off with a cleaner, apply dehydrator, then your primer. Just make sure that your prep work is spot on, and this should reduce lifting.
@naomipask99564 жыл бұрын
How do you know when you have prepped enough as opposed to overdoing it. I think I'm too heavy handed on myself (nail burn near cuticles etc) but no lifting😬. Is there a magical defining moment?
@traceynails57004 жыл бұрын
Naomi Pask all you are doing when you prep your nails is to remove dead skin from the nail bed and to gently take the shine of your nails. You should never be using a rough file on your natural nails. If you are roughly filing your natural nail and start to see more pink through your natural nail and it gets sensitive that’s way way to much filing. Just stuff it up. All you want is something for the gel or acrylic to catch on to.
@traceynails57004 жыл бұрын
I was getting lift in as well at the cuticle and my problem was not the prep. My prep was good. For me it was the naturally oily skin coming through to the nail bed. I needed a primer. Not just a-plied once though. I apply it twice. Now not one little piece lifts.

Hello Susie and camera man, hope you and your family are healthy and safe. First I’d like to say thank you for continuing to teach and create videos I really enjoy and especially now, your videos make me feel as though we are back in 2019. (No corona virus). Second, I’m so excited for you in all you’ve created. I’m so excited to purchase your acrylic and files. May I make a suggestion?, can you create a monomer that’s is more of a medium to high speed setting? I’m an amateur, not a novice though. I am self taught. I’ve Been wanting to come to one of your week or few day classes. I live in Toronto. When THIS is over I’ll be making arrangements when you announce your next one. Well, thank you both for what you do. I’m better at my craft because of you and thank you again for your videos. Gives me some normalcy. Right now I think it’s what we all need. Nothing about your videos have changed. (Completely a compliment). Other techs I watch are normally doing other people’s nails however most of the time your doing your own anyways. Normalcy. Be safe and have a wonderful weekend.

Okay, so I bought your kit. Its so wonderful. The only question I have in watching this video is the fact that you say you use the pink tint + the natural tint, but the powder you put in first is white. There's no correction in the description, so I'm wondering if I'm not seeing things right, or if you actually used the clear cap or soft white instead? Also, do you recommend a primer that's available now?? I'm not sure what brand would be a good use.
